Understanding The Games (Game Layouts)
This will be a sticky post. Wanted to knock this out too while I'm at it. So these 3 games, SN. TS, and GFJ will have different aspects (because players are looking for them so each game will be different).
Southern Nights -
FEMALE AND MALE MC - The game has a sandbox setup. This will allow me to create puzzles, challenges, triggered events, etc. and is meant to be full fledge game type with medium to little choices when scenes are triggered. Minigames are included. Game is meant to be kinky and sweet.
Thirsty Stories -
MALE MC - This game's design has been kept somewhat from its original form which is meant to be sandbox
with fantasy stories, no to little minigames, and more heavy on puzzles, secret areas, and mostly fantasy based. This is on the kinkier level and more wild.
Girl From Japan -
FEMALE MC - keeping as well to original design. Light sandboxing, light minigames and puzzles. More sweeter than other games so love will be involved and probably some heartache. This was inspired from another game so keeping to it as much as possible.
All of this of course is subject to change INCLUDING THE ENGINE USED IN THE GAMES. Right now I have no plans to change SN's Renpy engine HOWEVER the other games may change to Unreal, Unity, or custom game engine. This will help me in the future as I believe rendering scenes in comparison with 3D game tech evolving, will allow devs like me more opportunities to make updates quicker (because we're not having to render all the time and the game still looks good). I'll keep you posted on that.
I want to make it clear however that I would love to migrate them to a 3D game engine and I am super close to pulling their trigger so do not expect them to be in renpy unless I completely give in. Renpy has its limitations on what I want to do with art, the models, etc. so be warned and I already spend hours on renders right now, it just seems like a good move.
TL/DR: For right now, keep this in mind (I have a spreadsheet with more info about the games
here):
