You’ve left your island hometown to set up shop in Valencia, Dalren’s bustling trade city. Your mission is to grow your store, manage your reputation, and survive the political fallout of selling to both sides.
Whispering Ledger features a robust mercantile system, where you can decide whether you want to be an honest merchant and sell things for what they're worth, or a greedy mogul who refuses to sell for anything less than top dollar. Your store's reputation will change based on your business practices, and some clients will take particular offense to being nickel and dimed.
As your reputation grows, you’ll forge alliances and maybe something more with 5 core characters:
Balae (Scholar Association) will help unlock new expeditions and seascapes.
Ashura (Adventurer's Guild) can help organize expeditions for the procurement of goods.
Nicole (Research Laboratory) will craft various gizmos and gadgets to be sold.
Tyra (Fisher’s Pier) ventures into various seascapes to potentially find treasure.
Rat (Black Market) can explain her role herself.
As the game progresses, these alliances will play a key role in protecting yourself from those who don't appreciate a merchant who plays both sides. Or maybe you'll choose a side in the end? Be careful that it's the right one.
