[Detective Terri Malone enters the interview room. Seated at the interview table is Becky Chastity, a young woman who is wanted for questioning in regards to the disappearance of Lana Kyrie, a fellow California State University student. “Ah…” Kit frowns, thinking for a moment. “I did think that maybe…” The small girl hesitates, biting her lip. “Um…”
Chris can tell that her friend is unsure, but she supposes that anything would help right now. “Yeah?” She prompts, admittedly without much hope.
The small girl furrows her brow for a moment, and then frowns. “Nah… It’s stupid. She wouldn’t be there.”
“Where?” The tomboy prompts again.
“Ugh… I thought maybe Di’s apartment…” Kit sighs, already shaking her head. “But… That’s kinda dumb, now that I think about it. I thought maybe since she might have Di’s keycard…. But she’d probably expect us to think of there, right?"
Yeah, that does seem kinda too obvious. “I doubt it.” Chris says, after a moment’s thought. “She’s the head of the student council, she’s probably got keycards to every room if she needs it.” Honestly, the tomboy’s still a little rattled from her conversation with Holly.
“Fuck, that’s a scary thought!” Kit grimaces. “Jeez, I don’t want to think about her being in my room.” Catching her breath, the small girl sighs. “So… Where else could she be, then?”
High above, the moon has been obscured by a cloud. Chris doesn’t believe that omens exist, but she can’t imagine it’s a good one if they do.
