Everstone Daycare has been flagged on itch.io

Howdy everyone,

I’ve recently discovered that both the Everstone Daycare and Everstone Daycare (Public Demo) pages on itch.io have been flagged for suspicious behavior and display a warning message when you attempt to download any files from those pages due to a recent wave of Discord scams. I’ve attached an image of what the pop-up looks like below this post.

Please don’t panic when you see it, we would like to assure everyone that our files are safe and that this warning can be safely ignored. I’ve contacted itch.io support, and hopefully I can get this cleared up soon. I’ve also changed the password and re-uploaded the files for the Public Demo in case they have been tampered with in the event that my account was compromised and used for this scam without my knowing.

To give a small background on the scam: Typically, a Discord friend would send you a download link via DM, under the pretense that they were asking you to test out a game they were making. In reality, that friend’s account is likely hacked and the file they’re linking to is a virus that will start collecting sensitive information (like passwords and login info) from your computer.

We would like to ask everyone to stay safe, and be wary if ever you find yourself in this situation. Hopefully this post both clarifies our current situation, as well as prevents anyone reading this from falling prey to this scam.
