This purple hat remembers seeing on a calendar that December 26th is Boxing Day.

And this purple hat wondered why people would want to hold boxing matches on the day after Christmas...

Then I learned that Boxing Day is actually a day to donate gifts to those in need.

Today is also the day where many gift recipients will look at their loved ones and say:
"You saved the receipt, right?"

Purplehat Productions is going on a hiatus until January 2nd. I'm taking a vacation both to work on a real life project that needs my attention, and to let my creative batteries recharge.

And I just wanted to say, or rather have Rachel say that:

You really have been awesome. Your support funded the new cutscenes featured in this update. They paid for the tweaks, revisions and regenerations. They turned into what could have been A.I. slop, into carefully curated content.

And now I'm going to share some details on what this update reveals:

For starters you get to see Rachel's hypno screen, which has replaced the orb. A large round screen makes better sense, and it allows me to easily do rotating spiral effects. I plan to start reworking the Let Rachel go path, so this screen is going to become a lot more important.

And, this same ending reveals why the Re Education helmets were mostly destroyed. The reason why is something I touched on in the ending where Zach chooses to watch over Rachel and Kylie.

Neuroplasticity.

The brain is not static, and you can only use the Re Education helmet once per person. This results in short term complete obedience. However over time, the brain rewires itself.

This makes the long term results highly unpredictable.

This is where chemistry comes into play. Zach doesn't know much about chemistry even though he's affected by it.

Zach and Rachel have no natural chemistry. This is why after enslaving Rachel, Zach begins to look for other women. He realizes, if only subconsciously, that Rachel is not his ideal mate.

Zach and Kylie have chemistry, and it's that "I want to have sex with you!" chemistry. This is the kind of chemistry you see in a married couple who have multiple kids. They're sexually compatible and have built a relationship around that.

This increases the odds that Kylie will stay with Zach long term, even as her brain works to replace the personality that Zach wiped away.

On another note Zach and Chloe have a different kind of chemistry. It's not as sexually focused. It's more of a "I want to be with you and protect you" chemistry. Chloe, being naturally docile, isn't opposed to being somebody's pet if it means that she's taken care of and protected. She's vulnerable, and Zach subconsciously picks up on this, which awakens his natural protective instincts.

I doubt there will be a path in the game that spells this out. Zach is very intelligent, but also very naive due to both being only 20, and being isolated from most of the world. So for him, he figures things out by walking the tightrope of intuition and instinct.
