A brief word about what happened on Steam:
I could have gone the Steam route with Re Education, especially after the first NAGU update.
But uhh, I'm glad I didn't.
From Day 1 I knew Re Education was going to be a free game. I had many reasons for deciding this, but one was the vague "knowing" that if I charged money for the game, I'd be handing over at least some creative control and compromising the game.
When a group can pressure payment processors, who in turn pressure Steam, it's an ugly reminder of the lengths people will go to, to limit your freedom of expression, out of feigned concern for "the children", who shouldn't be playing adult games to begin with.
So as long as I'm able to create these games, they will be free to download and play. Your support is what keeps me going, and helps ensure that I can put out a product uncorrupted by outside groups.
