The final progress update of Lewd Town Adventures(v0.14).
Hello everyone! Jamleng here with the final info dump before 0.14 releases this Tuesday!
That's right, July 18th.
I'm glad to say that everything we've been working on is finally done. The game has been tested and debugged. I'm very happy with the end result of this update.
I mean, seriously, holy shit I think it's really damn awesome!
Poll Winners:
We ran multiple polls during this update and we pretty much succeeded in including more events for the winning characters. The only exceptions are Dark Path Cathedral events and Good Path Felicia scenes, which will be the first thing we work on for the next version.
It's not that we don't want to do it, it's because the scale of the game got immense during the last few years of development. So many characters, so many stories and personalities, we're doing our best to include everyone, everywhere, all at once.
However, between the two of us, we simply can't do it all at the same time nor as quickly as we all desire. Our focus though remains strong. It will all happen - eventually.

What did we do?:
Hilda was always the top choice in every poll we ran so we gave her quite a few new events on both the Good/Dark and NTR routes. We think you will be very pleased with the results thus far.
Another focus for us was to bring the main story forward - which we did by adding 5 massive events to the game that wrap up certain aspects of the story. These include twists, information, and surprises we hope you won't expect.
We've added quite a few new fetishes to the game. So if you're into these kinks, you're definitely gonna love 0.14!
- Truly romantic love making...
- Watersports/Urination
- Pregnancy/Impregnation
- Petplay/Training
- Anal Play
- Threesomes
Plus a ton of truly depraved stuff we cannot list here - and so much more!
Usually I would list the events here with some hints at what they contain, but this time I simply think it's better to skip spoilers and keep it simple:
Events added for the Good Path:
Hilda x 2 (1), Rose x 2, Cathedral x 1, Chad x 1, Roxy x 1, Oak x 1, Felicia x 1
Dark Path:
Hilda x 2, Hilda x 3 on the Dark Path NTR path. (Includes Subscribe star requests.)
Rose x 1, Emily x 1, Felicia x 3 (+), Sophia/Lilly x 1
Neutral events:
Emily x 1, Mayor x 2, Classroom (Teacher and all the girls) x 2, Principal x 1, Bella x 1, Matilda x 1, Elsa x 1, Nina x 1, Main story x 5!
I think it's safe to say as far as new events go there are about 50 new story and character moments - depending on how you count. Some have been combined though for everyone's convenience.
Realistically there are about 35 new events and about 20 small, new or semi new repeatable scenes added. We've tried to keep dialogue to the point as much as possible but despite this, the update turned out to be the biggest one as for as dialogue goes.
This update is actually very balanced. The last update the Good Path got a couple of more scenes while this update the Dark Path might have gotten a couple more.
Overall, it's always pretty balanced. Mostly because I write shorter scenes mostly for the Dark Path, while Xo writes larger scenes, mostly for the Good Paths. Then we switch it up and go through each other's events to polish, edit, or expand each other's writing for the overall best experience.

Xo went out of his way to make certain Good Path events possible on the Dark Path as well - which is a massive convenience - and in both cases the scenes are really damn good.
I know some people might not play both paths for whatever reason but it's highly recommended to give both routes a shot just to see the differences between them as they're very interesting. For completionists and those wishing to full out the gallery, it's the only way to see the changes every alternate choice makes to the story and characters.
Note: Most of these events are significantly larger than usual. We're talking 15+ pages of dialogue or sexy actions in certain events, as opposed to the usual 3-5 pages.
We've also added a bunch of small scenes and updated certain idle encounters.
Just to give a better view of repeatable scenes added:
- Rose has gotten a few
- Hilda has gotten a few
- Nina has gotten like 5
- Emily has gotten a couple.
+ a couple more.

The final stats for 0.14:
Lewd Town Adventures 0.14 update notes:
- 40+ new events.
- 2250+ new images.
- 750+ new animations.
- 330+ pages of dialogue added.
- Bunch of new music and sound effects.
- QOL changes like changes made to map, journal and more.
Renderwise 0.14 is bigger than 0.13 was before the public release. What also changed is this update has 750+ animations - which is a record + some are really damn amazing, pushing the limits of what's possible.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: The Early Release will last for a month!
July 18: Lewd Town Adventures 0.14 will be available for Tier CEO and above.
August 1: The game will be available for Tier Manager and above.
August 15: The public release drops.

New font.
We decided to switch up the font for 0.14 because the old one was very limited in what it could do. The old font required us to replace certain very common punctuation characters for it to display normal, which sucked. The new font is easier to read and much clearer on Android.
We went with something similar to what you're used to, so I doubt many will notice, but since the new font holds 20 times the predecent amount of 'special' characters (umlauts, apostrophes, quote marks, etc.), it's a win for all of us. Especially fan translations.

Chapters.
We've split the game into 3 chapters (+ prologue), which was always the plan but never really mentioned.
Prologue, Chapter 1, Chapter 2, and Chapter 3 now display on the top right of the screen. Nothing changes for you, but it is much cleared now in the game itself.
This is mostly to make it easier for us to pinpoint problems, but also - since every chapter has a different goal/changes the game significantly - it helps define how much progress players are making in the overall story.
It's a minor thing that should be helpful to all of us.

New icons.
We went with new icons for this update since our last ones stem from 1.5 years ago. We ran a poll on quite the few different ones including multiple setups and we went with the unanimous, undisputed poll winner.
Overall - after a bit of tweaking - I think they turned out pretty cool. It's slightly different but still basic enough not to be jarring for veteran Lewdtownians, since I personally believe in simplicity instead of Ubisoft style interfaces.
From now on, you can also go back to your room from any location you'd like instead of only the map. This will help if you get stuck or 'accidentally' start an event you wanted to hold off on for whatever reason. You should be able to reinitialize the event as long as you don't complete it or make a character path choice within the scene.

Map changes.
During our last update the overhaul of the map was quite a big difference. Most players were fine with it according to our polls, though there were some complaints about the visibility - so that's where we made the changes.
In 0.14 the visibility of where you can visit in Lewd Town is vastly improved. I hope it's better like this; if not, let us know.
Journal:
Most complaints we've had surrounding the game have always been that the journal was simply confusing at times. This especially became a problem when players skipped certain characters for whatever reason.
The journal has always been difficult to get fully right because of the sheer amount of events and interwoven character relationships - of which quite a few intertwine with one another and mention what happened with other people in other events.
With some pointers from someone called "Master of Puppets" I've invested quite some time tweaking the journal to make it better than ever before.
No more walls of text, It will now simply state the goal in a few words. Quests that used to block others will now simply state the requirement to continue the game's progress.
Although it's A LOT better than before, I can't guarantee perfection, despite playtesting. I will closely monitor progress to see if - and where - players get stuck, then I will act accordingly.

Playtesting:
The game has been fully playtested so it should (hopefully) be bug free... Yet a few people going through from start to end 3-4 times on each path vs thousands who use various devices and setups is always hard to ensure absolute perfection in every possible circumstance.
For the first time in quite a while I've gone through the full game and made changes accordingly. Lots of things that annoyed me have been changed/replaced.
Which brings us to the following:
Remakes:
In the past 5 updates we've been slowly but surely remaking scenes to make the earlier work match more with our later, more experienced (and better visual quality) work.
So far we've redone about a hundred scenes or so I'd reckon; we'll probably need to up to 50 more or so for the game to be really up to our standards.
Our main focus for this update was new content first, and with any leftover time - remakes.

Since we had some leftover time, and due to undisclosed reasons - this time we've focused on the prologue crash scene, the auction house, and some smaller scenes throughout the first 50 days of the game.
They are prettier, better lighted, have optimized camera angles, and - in many instances that used to be stagnant still images - they have detailed and plentiful animations. Another huge improvement, which we're both very happy about.
Mostly small stuff, including a crash was fixed. A crash that could cause players to enter a certain stage of the university that was only supposed to be accessible after day 120.
Not only that, the first day of the public release there was a bug where certain players could also enter the university way too early - breaking their save files. Although it was fixed within 24 hours or so, the damage was already done.
I've been manually fixing save files but that's not really how it should go.
I thought about a solution for players who passed that point and did not keep a save file from before it occurred... The only thing I could come up with is to make some small changes in the code which will make it so that they'll have to replay a single small event again.
I apologize for this but it's a small sacrifice to make and will probably make lots of people happy.
Due to focus on new stuff and time constraints, one particular mix of events has yet to be fully optimized. That is detailed below...
What could be considered a bug however was a major story inconsistency we did not account for. Simply put, if a player chose Good Path for Sophia and Lilly, and Dark Path for the main story choice, Stacy would appear in 2 different places at once, in completely different emotional states.
I've been thinking about this problem for quite some time and I've tried multiple solutions - including rewriting certain scenes - but they all resulted in different inconsistencies.
The only solution that I could think of that was the easiest (without having to remake about a thousand images/animations for the for the same story but cutting Alex or Stacy out) was the following:
When one chooses the Good Path for Lilly and Sophia, a disclaimer will pop up and will basically lock you into the day 68+ choice for the Good Path. I apologize for that but I figured it's the fastest and simplest solution (for now) though it's not how I want it to be.
The good news is that this has been "fixed", the bad news is that - without starting a fresh playthrough - it will remain inconsistent. I apologize for that but it's part of the development process.
Talking about the development process, a few changes to the story have been made. Mainly Alex staying alive on the Dark Path instead of dying.
Why?
Because he plays a major role in the game as one of the good guys. Killing him that early is a real damn shame that not only made the current and future events more difficult to work around, from a story perspective it was just too fast for it to happen.
Or to put it more bluntly: Remaking 1000+ images/animations for the same story but cutting Alex out is a waste of time/space. We can either make more exciting events or duplicate existing ones with double the work. We feel that simpler is easier and better in the end in this case.
Expect the above inconsistencies to be fully implemented in 0.14.1.
Android:
For our mobile players, we wish to apologize up front. Lewd Town Adventures version 0.14 will sadly be the last version available to Android players under conventional circumstances.
Why?
I've always tried to keep the total game file size as low as possible, but it's at the point this is becoming basically impossible.
The apps on android use either apk or obb extension. Android devices limit apk installs to 50MB - 2GB in almost all situations.
For LTA, the official size of the full, uncompressed game is about 25GB!
We have tried every trick in the book to shrink it for players. The best we can compress 25GB of playable code, animations, sounds, and images down to is almost precisely 2GB.
There are solutions to make LTA playable on Android but we'll talk about when it's needed as this post is already huge.
Final words:
This update has been quite the roller coaster that went quite differently than expected because both of our IRL's changed quite a bit during this time. In short, I'm just happy we came around and were able to bring you this awesome update.
It's a solid one with lots of story progression and cool scenes that will make you smile, gasp, and may make you play one-handed for a bit ;)

Thanks a lot! It truly helps a ton.
We hope to see you during the Early Release and if not, the Public Release will be on August the 15th.
We really hope everyone enjoys the new update. The game is just getting better and better with each release which is just awesome.
Talk to you guys/gals later. Have a good one!
Kind regards,
Jamleng.
It sounds like that's completely eliminating the possibility of playing Dark without NTR.
That's not how it should be. It's quite the puzzle at the moment, but I'll find a fitting solution.
I don't know that there *is* a solution that isn't either 1: make it possible to avoid NTR in Sophia's Dark route, or 2: make Sophia's Good route compatible with the main Dark route. Maybe I'm missing something, but that seems to be the basic logic.
A solution is in the works for the Public Release... Sorry it's not 100% for the Early Release. In brief: 4 months of heavy lifting, we're gonna take a breather before we dive back in and polish off the rough edges, if you don't mind. :)
