I realise I have not been very active here for a while (nearly a year) but that is going to change as of now!
Beneath a Neon Sun Status Update
Unfortunately the news here is not good at all. As some of my subscribers might already know from other news sources, this game is basically kaput.
In February I had a catastrophic hard drive failure. We are talking about losing everything connected with this game with the exception of the Daz files and the current build (which thanks to github is stored off site). This means all development files have been lost. This includes any changes not synced via git, all textures, custom images, documents, and any other piece of non-implemented code. None of this is recoverable and I have tried over the last 4 months.
I cannot even continue because many of the Daz files won't load properly because many of the textures and custom models are gone. This was a mechnical failure and seems to be unrecoverable. I still have the hard-drive, so never say never, but it looks like a forlorn enterprise at this manner.
This means Beneath a Neon Sun is abandoned. It is unlikely to ever have any more updates and the story ends here. However, not all is terrible news because making the game really improved my coding skills, skills I hope to utilise in the future.

The Wish: Redux
This leads me on to The Wish: Redux. This was a planned remake of the game I began in 2019 before the End Times™. Luckily all the files for this still exist because they were backed up elsewhere so this work could continue.
But, I found myself not wanting to do so. It's not that I don't like the game, though I didn't necessarily have a great time making it, but I have learnt so much since then and it was completed, albeit in a way that some found themselves unhappy about. So I am not going to remake the game. I know this will be of immense disappointment to fans of Mrs Hunter (in which group I include myself), but that is my decision. I have already remade day 1 and I found it very trying and boring.

The Wish 2:
Instead of remaking The Wish I am going to make its sequel. It will be set in the same universe as The Wish. It will even be set in the same town as The Wish with many of the same locations. However, it will feature a new protagonist and new characters. Don't worry, some old familiar faces will make appearances, but it will be a new story.
It will also be coded in the newest version of Ren'Py which is based on Python 3; it will be made at a higher resolution (1920x1024 rather than 1280x720) which means it will be better quality. It will also have improved sound and maybe even voicing. Who knows!? We'll just have to wait and see.
I will post some previews soon when I have some and I'll be restarting my Discord when the first release goes out. After that first release goes out I will also reactivate charging for subscribers and there will be more paywalled material for those who support my work monetarily.
