Progress Update 2


Hey guys, welcome to the 2nd progress report! (First if you are a non-patreon)
If you haven’t read the previous progress report (here), check the next point. If you did, skip toward the “2nd progress report” part. Just want to clarify some things that I posted in the last update, which not everyone has access to and I find important.
So for those who didn’t skip this paragraph, few important information to share. If you are not aware, I am an university student, and currently I am in my last year of Masters degree. Unfortunately, I don’t live in the same city that the uni is held in, so I have to travel 4 hours per day. I am emphasizing this point, as it’s simply impossible to promise a fast update release due to that.  I’ll do my best, but if it wasn’t clear, I cannot keep up speed wise as some devs due to there circumstances, and uni is my priority at this moment. If I finish it in one go/without redos, means I am free from it sooner.
Also, yes, this is Eiko and her new hair! Here and there, some characters will change hair, be it girls for special occasion or just changing their usual style to something else. Considering girls do change irl hair occasionally, I see no problems there. It won't be too often though, so no worries there. More detailed about Eiko hair, and some future stuff can be read in the previous report. Some chars will get some small tweaks and bugfixes.

ACTUAL 2nd PROGRESS REPORT:
Aaaand the new stuff from last one!
The progress has been slow, but at least we are moving into the right direction. Atm, roughly 1100 lines of dialogue has been written (+500 from last week), and we finally started with some renders, the first ~100 renders completed. I had to redo quite a few of them due to some typical Katana mistakes (facepalm gif). The renders itself, so far happy with their looks, it continues with the improved quality as in Episode 3. Hope you'll like them!
There will be quite a few new maps and places we visit in Ep4, thankfully I found a few promising baselines with the cleanup I did, but they still need to be properly setup (lights, items, etc.). Still, shouldn’t lose too much time on that next few weeks.
Besides that, not that much I can openly share yet. Still not decided on what I will exactly do with Ep2 and it’s rework due to some reasons. I did make a small test (thanks Chris and Soliana!) on what happens with the script and why it broke on Ep3 release. So far, didn’t manage to replicate the issue. Which isn’t the best, but also shows that “smaller” changes to script shouldn’t cause that issue. It was either just too overwhelming of a change (typos+certain events/values) or it simply corrupted somehow.
And lastly, Ep4 might finally feature first relationship “flag/s”, aka choice/s which matter much more and can lock you out of a certain character route. Will decide later how exactly I’ll make them (as in showcase it’s such choice or not). But no worries, as it’s still very early stage of the game, the one I’ve planned for Ep4 is minor, and only if you accumulate multiple negative flags you lose the route. Stay tuned for that in future!
