Devlog 2022/09/23

Hey everyone,
Sort of an interim Devlog today; most of the work on my end has been making the level tiles for the new game and various other types of assets, GUIs and health pickups etc. We're working toward a trailer for the game of course, but we'd like to feature some different levels as sneak peeks so I may as well get it looking as we'd like! It's been great fun working with tile sets thus far; I'm doing as much of each level as I can think of, which is much easier when other assets are sat next to the one you're working on for comparison. What's slightly harder is making something able to repeat seamlessly, but heck I'm learning much already.
Honestly, when I started the level textures for Predation I just referenced what I remembered from things like Duke 3D when you went poking around in the files; yet another lesson in why one should probably approach making a game from the angle of someone who knows how to make games rather than sprite animations, but the lessons learned are making it steadily more streamlined even to my addled brain!
Thanks for sticking around during what I know has been a pretty quiet time; we're determined to continue come hockey sticks or high water so stay tuned ^^
