2022 - Week 37 - News Post

In contrast to last week, this week has had a ton of progress on BT1, with the comic reaching the 55 page mark, and things are moving quickly again.  I've re-written the outline for the end of the comic and it looks like it will be around 71 pages, give or take a few depending on how it goes while making them (I often will add a new idea here and there as I'm making the pages, or realize I can fit the action from two pages into one, etc).

I'm hoping to finish the comic early next month sometime, now that the end is in sight.

No one will care about this but me, but I've also figured out a new way to use the material system in Daz, which will ensure consistency with the materials across all my work. Before, the materials were unique per scene and per item, so there were many different versions of black leather for example, and every time I made a new scene I would have to swap to the newest version of my leather material.  Going forward, the new material system uses shared textures to define material properties, so black leather will look the same in every context and will update globally if I ever need to change the texture in the future.  I'll need to update every item to this new system the first time I use them, but over time it should make re-using existing assets much more painless as well as speeding up the lighting of a scene.
