The swarm of bugs

Hello, and thank you for joining me for this week's public update.  I am happy to report that the conversion work on Missy MZ has now been completed and pre-public beta testing has begun.  All is on schedule.  I'm finding a lot of bugs in the updated code, as one might expect, and am working methodically through them to ensure something approaching playable can be tested by my supporters next week.  Details of the first public test will follow in due course.

So in the meantime, let's have a look at a few of the new and upgraded things you'll be treated to once it does go public!  At the top, we have one of the small changes that's been made, several characters who didn't have intro graphics for when we first meet them now do.  So here's Malia in her room in her casual clothes for when we first meet her at Abbie's.
Here is a side-by-side of the old and new battler screens.  Stacey can be seen here in a better resolution and improvements in the rendering technique have smoothed the edges.  She just looks all round better, I think.  Let's see how it's improved Jess.

Our bad girl brat is also looking great with these improvements, and the nicer MZ backgrounds complete the effect.  Don't let that distract you though.  You know what she'll do to you if you lose to her...

Finally, let's take a look at another little quality-of-life improvement.  The save screens have been improved to include some basic information about what you're doing.  During the school day, they'll remind you of what time it is and outside school, they'll remind you of where you're up to in the main storyline.

There is also now an autosave, as you can see.  It will trigger each time you walk into a new room, and should help if you encounter anything unexpected like computer problems or, dare I say, one of these bugs I'm currently squishing.

Have a great week, and for me, it's on with testing!
