I totally agree. It's actually kind of a nightmare for me as well :p Because I don't get a proper way to sort my stories. Originally I intended to tag every story, poll and image sets at the top of the feed, so that everyone could easily navigate to the stuff they like. Unfortunately, there's a limit to the amount of tags you can put on one post. So I would have to have several pinned posts at the top in order to cover all of the older ones. I'll try to think about some sort of solution :) Hope you're doing well!
