Important — Please Read

So, my "day job" is changing in the next few weeks, and my writing time is going to be a lot more limited for the foreseeable future.

What WILL change:

  • Updates are going to be less frequent than they have in the past
  • Subscriber-exclusive content will be intermittent, at best

What WON'T change:

  • Any books I release, paying subscribers will still get a complementary copy as part of their subscription.
  • I will still post drafts and such as I finish them, but realize there may be fewer of them.

Recently, I extended all paying subscribers free membership through Tuesday, March 1, 2022. If you are still okay with the reduced output, you don't need to do anything. If you think the changes will no longer be of any value to you, then you will need to unsubscribe no later than Monday, February 28, 2022. SubscribeStar will not let me reduce the price less than $1/month, and the process to extend memberships is fairly tedious and not something I want to deal with on a regular basis to try and mimic $1 for 2–3 months.

My feelings won't be hurt if you decide to leave. The situation doesn't make me particularly happy either, but I wanted to be as transparent as possible. I fully understand that money is tight for everyone right now, and you need to get as much value out of every dollar (or applicable currency) as possible.

If you choose to unsubscribe but would still like to keep abreast of what I'm up to, consider signing up for my email list to find out when new books are being released. I only send 3–4 emails out per year, so it won't clog up your inbox, nor would I ever consider selling your information.

I say this a lot, but it bears repeating. Thank you again for your support for however long you've been here. Some of you have been subscribers since I opened this page, and others are relatively new. It really means a lot, but ultimately, this gig (books sales + SubscribeStar + affiliate linking) earns me less than $200/year, which is nowhere near enough to live on in the USA, so I need to keep the "day job" for now.

Thank you,
—KW
