Repost of a short story I posted on Deviantart a few years ago.
I recall that I was in an evil mood when I wrote this.
The idea came up when I was speculating about what happened to Barriss Offee after the Clone Wars. So I had a thought that Palpatine got Barriss to work for him as a shadow guard, but she disappointed him and was disposed of. I also recalled that monster from the Death Star garbage, the sith ability to use dark side alchemy and my evil idea started coming together.
I also threw in an echani senate guard as symbolism. The message there is obvious considering Palpatine's angle in the prequels, so I won't prattle on.
