Friday Progress Update, Oct 23 "The Peaches Have Eyes."
Hello there.
Welcome, welcome to another Friday post. I must be close to a million of these by now.
Today, I thought we'd talk numbers. There must be some real nerds out there who likes numbers. Or not, in which case I'm just throwing this out into the cyberspace where it will circulate endlessly.
For the next update, my numbers right now are these: Monday: script 48kb, 249 renders, 3 animations Tuesday: script 62kb, 312 renders, 4 animations Wednesday: script 68kb, 311 renders, 6 animations Thursday: script 48kb, 115 renders, 1 animation
As you can see, the script vs renders for the Thursday don't add up to the other days. That's because I'm still rendering. I'm also not quite done with the script. I think it needs another 5-10kb. The kb stuff is raw file size for the dialogue. It's not a word count.
I've said time and time again I was aiming for a shorter Thursday. But in the end, at best, it'll be marginally shorter. Currently, I have 987 renders done. We're passing a thousand tomorrow! The update might land at 1200 or so. I'll need a few animations as well.
It's the 23rd. Damned close to November already! I said last week I aim for a November release, and that's still true. There's stuff to do after renders+script are done, such as post-work, coding, playtesting, and so on. But those things aren't nearly as time-consuming. November!
I'm not progressing as fast in the overall story as I had imagined I would. But then again, I see no reason to rush it. I'm doing a lot more scenes and "gradual" progress with April and Summer than I had originally thought I would. The "big shocking event" I had thought to end the first update with is still somewhere in the future. Maybe in 0.12, hey?
I re-did the tiers on Patreon/SSS some. Basically, I cleaned them out. Right now, it's release tier + polls only. I might add more if there's interest. My experience with the other stuff I had before was that no one gave a damn.
My headache with the polls is that I envision 3 content polls for girls: 1. Which of the girls at work gets an extra scene. 2. Which of the girls "in the house". 3. Which of the girls "around town". The problem is that only the girls at work are fleshed out to the degree that a poll is really meaningful. We'll see where that ends up. I'm undecided.
Another problem is that there are 5 girls at work. And some people have expressed an interest in Emily, the receptionist. But I'll be honest. I have no story in mind for her. She's a blank slate so far. She sits there looking cute, flirt a little, but it's not leading anywhere. If I include her in the poll and she wins, I'd have to come up with stuff for her. Hmpf. I have the embryo of an idea, though.
Okay, too many fucking words, let's do a picture or two.
Hey, you said green, don't look at me.
Girls doing girly stuff, like putting on makeup.
Well, how about I go back to working my way to that thousand render, what do you say? I wish I had a poll to do, but I'm drawing blanks on that topic. There are no more decisions to make. Unless we're talking Emily. Hmm. Maybe? Nah, I bet no one remembers her anyway.
I'll see you next week. Thanks for reading and for your support.
