Weekly Update 07/10/2026
Hello everyone, welcome to spooky month!
God next year I definitely want to do “holiday” stuff heh.
Anyway, just a quick one today, I found a pretty huge bug with the new Patrol Job. In a nutshell, easy fix, if the release isn’t tomorrow night, it’ll be first thing Friday.
More details below for those curious,
Much love!

SO! What I tried to do is make the Patrol job unique compared to the other jobs, the idea being that it was an “on rails” where Kyrsten would be batted from event location to event location, where 1 of three events would play out.
In theory, this would make the patrol more replayable (/interesting) because the player wouldn’t know what would happen next… but at the same time it brought up the issue of how would the player get all the scenes (outside of the library) ? So I wrote a variable to be running atop the minigame that tracks what has been shown and give a higher chance for an unseen scene playing.
This would work for a total of twice before the events start tripping over themselves as the game misunderstands what I want and starts sending the player to the wrong spots, to show all events, even out of order.
And who’s fault is it?
Well… mine. I tried to be smart in RPG maker and make it do things that make a mess of events and timings, overdesigning like usual, until the game was like “why are you doing this”.
The solution is so much simpler: just make the Patrol Job the same as the Camp minigame and the Garden minigame… the player walks around and interacts with each event of their choosing, with a tiredness bar that drains with each event (more lewd the more tired) and everyone is happy. Kind of like how the minigame was already designed to be set up as..!
Heh, the problems of not having someone to rein me in! Although tbh, I’m sure a few of you read the old post about the planned way of playing the Patrol job and thought “why is he doing this”?
ANYWAY, no need to change anything but under the hood stuff, nothing needs to be rewritten or redrawn, just moving events around and creating new events/controlling variables and switches. Just takes a couple of hours, no biggie.
But I’m happy I playtested this time, that might’ve been embarrassing!
