DEV LOG #8
So... Hey everyone!
It's been a few weeks since my last announcement, which means it's about time for a new one...

First off, thank you for the words of support — and even for the hate comments. I've read everything and drawn my own conclusions.
Some of you I understand, some I don't... But I'm not going to dwell on it. I'm just going to keep working and enjoying the process, regardless of what anyone else thinks.

Secondly, thank you for your ideas and advice on how to make my second project more player-friendly. I've read everything and will try to take your suggestions on board, as long as they fit my vision for the game.
(I'm still open to ideas, so don't hesitate to message me here or in my DMs.)

And finally... Please allow me to make a little announcement for my new game, titled Redline!
As you can see, development progress has already hit 10%. Even though I haven't been working on it for that long...
Why is that? Mostly because the updates for this game won't be massive. Otherwise, I'd just drive myself into another endless loop of rewrites... And neither of us wants that.
Plus, this way you'll be getting new content much more frequently and quickly, so it's a win-win. And if you're worried I'll be cutting the narrative off in the middle of a chapter... don't be. I'll be finishing them completely; they'll just be on the shorter side.

Now, let's talk about the game itself:
First of all, it's set in modern times. No fantasy, mysticism, or cyberpunk. None of that is needed here...
The main events of the game will take place in the Crown City.
Crown City is a sunny city surrounded on three sides by a beautiful ocean, boasting an absolutely massive number of beaches. Beaches that offer gorgeous views... of the ocean.

The people here are used to a quiet, relaxed life... Luckily, the climate and their families' wealth allow for it. Land in this city costs an astronomical amount of money, which means only exceptional people can afford it...
And it's highly unlikely they'd ever want to sell it to anyone. Right?

Well, Meridian Corp doesn't think so. For reasons currently unknown, they've started buying up plots of land one by one. Offering residents a choice that isn't really a choice at all: either they sell their land and move, or... SPOILERS.
Because of that, all the residents are wondering: "What do they want, and how exactly will this affect the city's future?"
But the corporation just brushes their questions off with vague excuses and continues buying up the town...

Among the city's residents is our main character — Leon Martinez. He's a 23-year-old guy who works as a mechanic at a local workshop. He fixes cars and bikes and genuinely just wants to keep doing exactly that...
But the corporation has set its sights on the land the shop sits on.
Now, he’ll either have to find a new job, or try to convince the woman who owns the place not to sell.
After all, it's not just the work tying him to that workshop; there's something else too...
Will she listen to him? And if she does, what kind of consequences will it bring?
Meridian Corp doesn't like taking "no" for an answer, and they have no intention of making exceptions.
After all, their motto is "Every line holds a price. Even the ones drawn in red."
And sometimes, that price can be far too high...

You'll learn more about the world and the main character in the first chapter. I'll try not to drag out its release. Right now, I'm aiming to drop it in January or February. But I don't want to make any hard promises...
Now, a bit about what kind of game this is going to be:
It'll be a mostly linear game without story-altering choices. The choices will strictly be for flavor in certain moments, nothing more.

Will it be an 18+ game? — Hell yes.
Will it have a harem? — Absolutely.
Will there be solo routes? — Unfortunately, no. This project was created to help me reset as a writer, so I'm not planning to map out solo routes.
Will there be a ton of love interests like in Artifice? — No, there will only be 6 main girls. Each of them will be unique and fit into popular archetypes that you all know and love.
And there won't be any secondary love interests either. The whole game will revolve entirely around those 6 girls and our main character. All other characters will only appear for the sake of the plot...

And since we're on the topic of characters, let me introduce you to the first of the six — Roxy! A young, energetic 21-year-old girl. Who also happens to be a VERY close friend of our main character.
So close, in fact, that they actually live under the same roof...
To avoid major spoilers, all I can say for now is that because of her, our MC often ends up in some... interesting situations. But you'll find out more about that in the game itself.

And... that's all I wanted to share for now.
Thanks again, everyone. I sincerely hope you guys end up liking this project. Because at the very least, I'm having a lot of fun working on it...
