Progress Report
Okay, progress is being a bit slow, but we’re getting there.
First, the final batch of voice acting tracks is now in my possession. I’ve been playing around with those a bit recently, and aside from needing some noise reduction, compression, and normalization, they are all ready to go.
Work on the second act of the video is coming along well. At the moment, all the work being done is on story animations and scene setting within MMD, and it should be done this week.
I also made an update to the “Armature Matching” script for my Blender rig. I made a small correction: previously, the twist bones for the FK arms were placed incorrectly. Although they worked correctly, they were positioned at the very head of the upper arm and elbow bones when they should have been placed in the middle. This change does require a small correction by the user once the script has finished matching the armature; the only adjustment needed is scaling the bones to the desired size. Other than that, the results are the same as in the previous version of the script.
I uploaded a video of me using the new script on Mirai Akari. In the video, I also made some adjustments that the user will most likely want to make themselves, although those adjustments are completely optional.
I also corrected a broken mechanism in some of Izumi’s Blender models. The twist for the upper right arm was not working for the IK arm. I don’t know how or when that happened, but it is now fixed. The corrected versions have already been uploaded, along with a new version of the clean rig with the new script inside it.
Just a reminder that new videos are being uploaded to the “Part Time Jobs” folder inside the 1080p folder. There should be around 60 videos there now, and once I am done with the animation, I’ll be uploading more.
Time to get back to work now. We’re almost there.
