ARTIFICE - HIATUS

Hey everyone!
As you can see, the development progress for the new version has reached 25%...
However, I've decided to put Artifice on an indefinite hiatus.
Why? Honestly, I'm not happy with the direction development is heading right now. I'm constantly overthinking the story, trying to figure out the best way to structure it so it's engaging to read and lets you truly immerse yourselves in the characters' arcs.
But the more I think about it, the more I start doubting my own decisions, which leads to me rewriting and redoing everything from scratch. And then doing it again, and again, and again... Basically, I've painted myself into a corner with the way I decided to write this game, and the development process just isn't bringing me any joy anymore.
Maybe I took on a plot that was way too complex and just overestimated my abilities...
I don't know.
I can't give a straight answer to myself or to you guys. I still love this project, and I have absolutely no plans to abandon it. That's why I've decided to just give myself some time and shift my focus to something else for a bit.
And that "something else" will be... another game! (Yeah, yeah, I know how stupid that sounds)

I've decided to start working on another project where I won't be writing a massively complex plot with a web of connections that are supposed to eventually culminate into something cool and interesting in the distant future, like I planned for Artifice. Here, the writing will be simple and lighthearted, without trying to create some grand masterpiece...
In many ways, this game will likely be the complete opposite of Artifice. From the story, characters, and world, all the way down to the narrative style itself. Because trying to make another game just like it would be career suicide...

I genuinely hope this project will help me reset as a writer, and that once it's done, I'll be able to return to my beloved theater with renewed energy.

I want to reiterate: I am not abandoning this game; I'm simply putting it on hold. I deeply love my characters and the world I've created, but I need a break from it for now. Forcing myself to work on it won't lead to anything good...
As for the new game, I've actually already started working on it. I've come up with the characters, started writing the story, and have begun making renders. (I was making them during my breaks from Artifice, and even then, I started realizing something was off, because I was having way more fun with them...)

This game isn't planned to have nearly as many updates as Artifice, but if the audience really likes it, I might extend it.
What is it about? I can't say just yet.

I'll be gradually sharing my progress and the development process on my Patreon and SubscribeStar pages. I'll keep posting development percentage updates on Discord, just like I did with Artifice, and slowly introduce you to the new characters.
Since I'm starting a new project, I'd love to hear from you guys:
What would you like to see in this new game?
What did you like or dislike about Artifice that you'd want to see fixed or implemented here?

Please share your thoughts either down below or by DMing me on any platform you can find me on.
Regarding Patreon content:
I'll continue posting monthly character wallpapers there. I'll also keep working on my commission art.

A special thank you to everyone who has supported me financially on this platform and believed in my little project. And a special apology that I have to put it on hold for now...
I hope you can understand, and I hope you'll end up liking the new game just as much as this one.
Also, a huge thank you to the entire audience this game has brought me. When I first started, I never could have imagined that thousands of people would follow it... I appreciate your support more than words can say. Thank you all!
Now, I'm going to go contemplate my life choices for a bit and get back to work.

See you around!
