Brief History
Daniel recovered the ARM-059 from a dead USS operative during his rampage through the power plant. The weapon had been wielded by a suppression unit attempting to pin him down along one of the facility’s stairwells, though the rifle proved awkward and ineffective within the cramped confines of the structure. After reclaiming his gear and clearing the area, Daniel recovered the firearm out of sheer curiosity, drawn in by the bizarre triple-barrel design and the sheer novelty of the weapon.
The weapon itself had been redesigned from the ground up after Umbrella subsidiary Armacham acquired the rights to the original Tula Arms design (TKB-059). The corporation initially pursued the platform as part of a broader internal effort to modernize containment and suppression equipment following repeated failures with conventional light machine guns during close-quarters B.O.W. engagements. Armacham engineers were drawn to the original prototype’s absurd cyclic rate and compact dimensions, seeing potential in a weapon capable of overwhelming hostile targets through sheer volume of fire before regenerative organisms could properly react.
Redevelopment proved difficult almost immediately. The original system suffered from brutal wear, heat buildup, poor ammunition feeding, and severe stress on internal components during sustained firing. Armacham ultimately rebuilt most of the rifle from scratch, retaining only the core triple-barrel firing concept and portions of the AK-derived operating system. The resulting platform was unveiled internally in 1989 as an alternative to traditional squad-level support weapons. Its tandem triple-barrel arrangement pushed the cyclic rate to nearly 2100 rounds per minute, dramatically outpacing contemporary competitors while still maintaining impressive reliability and parts interchangeability through its Kalashnikov-derived internals.
The redesigned weapon also incorporated a heavily revised box-feed system intended to solve the prototype’s notorious feeding issues. Reinforced magazines, improved feed geometry, and stronger internal springs significantly reduced jams and malfunctions while simultaneously increasing ammunition capacity. Combined with retention of the compact bullpup configuration, the rifle carved out a niche role among USS and UBCS suppression squads, particularly during corridor fighting and containment operations where overwhelming short-duration firepower mattered more than ammunition conservation. Despite this, the rifle remained infamous for its violent recoil impulse, extreme ammunition consumption, and tendency to overheat during prolonged engagements.

Customizations & Modifications
Integrated Underbarrel Light/Laser: Combined illumination and targeting module mounted beneath the barrel cluster. Provides close-quarters target acquisition assistance and low-light visibility during suppression operations. Has Infrared and Low-Light settings for use with vision enhancement devices.
Compact Reflex Optic: Low-profile illuminated optic mounted directly to the upper receiver for rapid target acquisition in confined environments. Shares linkup feature with Gridlink wireless allowing for enhanced reticle functionality.
Chromed Charging Assembly: Replaces standardized charging assembly with customized chrome-plated components improving reliability and cycling consistency under fouling-heavy combat conditions. Significantly reduces jamming and misfeeds while allowing for larger magazines.
Extended Cooling Jacket: Barrel shroud modified with additional venting to reduce heat buildup during repeated burst strings. Allows for extended firing while deflecting heat buildup away from the user, and provides additional mounting hardpoints.
Three Stage Firing Mechanism: Refined timing gears allow for cyclical firing pattern, helping reduce the overall recoil of the weapon by firing each barrel in a staggered pattern as opposed to simultaneously to improve accuracy without reducing overall RPM.
Box-Load Combi-Magazine: Replacing magazine spring-systems with beltfeed technology not dissimilar to cyclical multi-barrel weapons like the M134, magazine capacity is increased without unduly enlarging the size of said magazines. Increases the standard 120-round box to a 240-round box of linked shells.

Available Ammunition
  1. Hurricane: Compact Armacham proprietary rounds redesigned for easier storage using a crimped box-shape for maximum storage size and hassle-free ejection using a nestled .310 projectile. Standard projectile.
  2. Hurricane-U: Specialized armor-defeating Hurricane variant utilizing a tip of depleted uranium. Special issue only, for use with Class-6 Armored B.O.W. evolutions. CAUTION: Radioactive
  3. Hurricane-I: Hot-tip phosphorus rounds designed for retarding extreme regenerative abilities in Class-4 Regen B.O.W evolutions. May also serve as Tracer loads when needed.
  4. Hurricane-Ω: Experimental antigen rounds loaded with soft-tip expanding capsule projectile, designed for terminating Generation 3+ Class-1 Carrier B.O.W. evolutions. CAUTION: May have variable efficacy in field operations.

Exclusive Upgrade
"Cerberus' Bite": Installation of a handle-mounted switch allows for an override of the in-built timing gears, shutting off overheating protections and allowing for unrestricted burst shots. Using this system allows for a fifteen round burst at 2800 RPM. Weapon requires short cooldown period between shots for gear reset. WARNING: Can cause undue stress on the barrels, and has been shown to cause significant kinetic recoil.

DISCLAIMER: Armacham is absolved of all responsibility for the following impairments due to use of the Cerberus' Bite system, up to an including broken bones, deep tissue bruising, organ damage, tendon or muscle tears, nerve damage, ruptured or burst veins, dislocation, and death by user error.
