Hello Boo,
I'm going to take my personal note to talk about the life of a dev. Not the whole life, the secret double life that people who do anything anonymously get.
Wilson Wonka died of cancer last month. He with his co-dev and animator Puggy made The Hellcat Lounge.

I first noticed Wonka when he was sharing his art on several servers. His art is gorgeous. He paid attention to materials in a way that made every render perfect. Wonka did things the right way.
After I learned that he was making a game and joining his server, the first thing I remember was him making an announcement that he was scrapping all his previous work on his game because he got a new pack of higher resolution textures. He wanted to do everything in his power to make his game look as good as possible.
He paid for those textures too. Something that I learned several times is the extent to which Wonka hated piracy.
Every asset in these daz porn games was sold in a store. Sometimes, in combo packs but sometimes, props are sold separately. It seems to be twenty to thirty dollars for any daz asset. Some assets suck and you don't know until you try them. When a dev's first game has few assets that look bland in a world that looks sparse, I'll believe that they bought everything. Someone could spend $500 dollars on two characters, an outfit, a location and still have an empty looking frame with details that don't match.
Hellcat Lounge looks better and fuller than some devs that have been making these games since before the pandemic. I fully believe that he bought every one of those assets. He spent thousands of dollars to tell his story the right way.
I only played early versions of Hellcat Lounge because I respected Wonka's work and disgust for piracy. He was a musician earlier in his life. He felt that piracy and an unfair industry held him back from making music. He saw it hurt indie bands that he liked and respected. He didn't put his game on itchio because he thought they seemed like shifty and untrustworthy people.
I was looking forward to a steam release because that was going to be the right way to purchase and play his game.
The thing that really made me relate to Wonka was his desire to write about normal people. A lot of stories in this space really lean on fetishising wealth. The cast is rich people and soldiers in fabulous places, getting wealthier, being the smartest and strongest people in the room. Wonka put more thought into it than me, though. It's hard to find buildings that look like normal houses but Wonka took it a step further to consciously think about a character's resources. He noted hair and nails that would have to be styled and paid for every week. He put so much thought into his work.
Development times for games in the adult space are pretty long. I was surprised to learn that further work on Hellcat Lounge was delayed because of band posters. A move I'll bet was generous in Wonka's mind to promote bands he liked and respected. Some devs would cover them up with post work but Wonka did things the right way and was re-rendering the scenes from the source with replaced posters. It wasn't until yesterday that I learned he was also struggling with cancer.
When you have limited time or possibly limited time, you don't waste your life with things you don't want to do. Wonka still told people he was working on his game, telling his story. That's what I believe I would be doing too.
Thank you all for indulging me on this. Thank you for the chance to tell stories that I love.
My condolences to his creative partner Puggy.
My condolences to his family. Those that are open to his side of his creative life.

Wonka's server is still up. You can leave your memories of him and what his game meant to you, there. There is also a link to a remembrance page and a place where you can donate to cancer research in his honor.

Writing
Writing is done! I thought writing smut in public could be embarrassing. Try writing a eulogy and stopping yourself from crying in a Fredy's. That's an exaggeration, my regular writing also makes me cry in public.

I was very excited when I put that last complicated scene together. We celebrated and went out. I told the unpaid teammates and private discords. Then, I started tagging images and ran into "ray write this scene, I am la tired."
RAT BASTARD
Now, it's done-done. I haven't found any points where French Ramon passed work to the future. 57,994 words. That does include name tags and some light coding for variables. So, I'll update the real word count with renpy when everything is compiled.
Art
I've been setting up scenes as I write them. Trying animations. But now that the script is written, I'll be adding tags. So, there will be a 'PAGES-TO-TAG number that will count down as I fill in pages and explode the overall count.

Rewards
This months rewards are Ashley. Someone said they could see her bra strap but she's not wearing a bra and not doing the meme for non-patrons.
