Let Chaos Reign Chapter 21: The Things Sidious Could Never Teach

It wasn’t long after the battle for the planet had come to an end, and we made our way across a series of planets, pushing the Republic back, and whatever attempt they were trying to make towards Tatooine had failed.

It took about a month with the battles waged against the Republic’s clones with only a few Jedi Knights to combat them, and when word reached them the Quiet Hand had arrived, the bulk of their forces had retreated after the first few planets had been soundly defeated, with only a few of us necessary to wipe out anyone trying to put up a fight. At least when we wanted to cement our reputation, which had exploded rather quickly amongst the galaxy.

The Magnaguards, with how many I had manufactured, were impossible to keep hidden forever, and word had managed to get around about us having access to so many that some of the Separatist commanders even tried probing about them, but they were given no information. Most of any information beyond what little I wanted them to know was kept hidden from them.

I had spent that time focusing on using Sun Breathing, trying to get it trained up while our forces worked their way through a series of planets before we finally succeeded in pushing back the Republic forces, who were now retreating with their tails tucked between their legs.

Not that I could blame them when their forces were ravaged by a handful of people. I would be running for my life too. Letting the breath I had go, feeling the enhanced strength leave me as we finally made it back, I saw my castle was now finished, looking both regal and intimidating, yet inviting all at once.

Not even a second had passed when I got back to work. One of the two seeds was planted just outside of the castle with me swapping a slot for the tinker farmer Ability. I had already put it into place on our way back once the campaign was finished to get an idea of all that I would need.

A datapad and a few hours later had the plans drawn up and the droids that would be needed to start construction and work the farms with any locals interested in building Tatooine into an agri world. Quite a few were interested, it would seem, but when you see a job opportunity and Jabba himself was paying well for it regardless of his ruthless reputation, you take what opportunities are thrown your way.

I had also been busy creating the materials for the farms to get started. Plenty of metals that would be needed as I shaped and molded them and left them for the droids and workers to use for construction. With most of that taken care of and me enjoying the sight of the people in Mos Eisley watching in awe when they finally noticed the seed sprouting and spreading itself around the castle before it slowed down.

It was still spreading at a surprising speed but nothing too fast, like it had first been. Turning away from the rain coming down on the area again, I looked towards Maul, who was sitting on the repulsor lift that kept him at eye level.

He looked at me expectantly but remained silent, his emotions dulled down after my talk with him about who was to blame for his downfall. He had taken it far better than I had expected, showing that despite the lingering madness, he was still incredibly intelligent and was capable of self-reflection. A trait I felt was an absolute must if we were to work together and I was going to teach him.

“So… Are you ready?” I asked him, breaking the silence as he tore his eyes off of the newer art pieces that decorated the chamber we resided in. Some of them were an obsidian black metal that depicted several weeping angels, with xenomorphs perched above like gargoyles.

“I am. I have been ready since you made it known.” He said with conviction that lit a flame behind his eyes.

“Good. You’ve gotten better with the steady diet you have been sticking to. With Pitou, you're in good hands, Maul.”

The silent padding that would have gone unnoticed had it not been for Haki tipping me off on who appeared beside the two of us. “Don’t worry about a thing, Maul, I’ll take good care of you.” Pitou said with an ominous smile. She made a show of lounging on a couch as he slowly turned to look at her, giving her an unimpressed look.

He had learned to develop thicker skin when dealing with Pitou, who took great pleasure in teasing him in any way she could. Whether that was using him as a seat to lie on or mocking him when it came to his power or lack of legs.

“As I expect you to, you do not wish to displease Tobi after all. What would you do if you earned his displeasure?” Maul sniped back in a far too calm and collected manner.

Pitou froze, tail no longer happily moving through the air like a sidewinder in the desert. She turned and tilted her head while giving him a creepy smile. Something Maul shrugged off, seeing my smile had grown before I gave the red and black Zabrak a round of applause.

“Brav fucking oh, Maul. Though we might need to work on your delivery and how you insult another person, you did pretty good against Pitou. Something to work on after we get you healed and beyond what your previous peak was.” Pitou and I shared a knowing look as she gently smiled, nodding towards me, knowing what the plan was.

It was time to see if that theory I had held had any merit. If it did, it opened many doors that were previously locked off from Maul. “How long will it take to heal him, Doctor Pitou?”

Pitou’s smile widened as her head tilted from side to side. “Roughly two to three days. Three at the most.”

“Do you think you can handle being on an operating table that long?”

Maul gave me the biggest 'Are you serious?' look I have been given in my life. It makes me happy knowing he was learning to better express himself beyond just frothing at the mouth in barely contained rage with sprinkles of madness. Speaking of which, his hands had settled down somewhat but still wiggled around, and Maul would always have a glare directed at them.

“Of course I can! I spent nearly ten years without half my body, I could handle an entire week with Pitou and her constant desires to annoy me if it means regaining that which was taken from me.” Maul said calmly, yet with such gravitas that you would think he was a mob boss, complimenting her and threatening her at the same time.

“Aw~ I’ve grown fond of you too, horn head.” Pitou cooed, but Maul simply let it slide right off. Haki could feel the excitement and anticipation coming from him before he was sent to the secure chamber where the surgery would be conducted while Pitou remained with me.

"If you need anything, do not hesitate to tell one of the Magnaguards or simply call for me, and I will come,” I told her with clear concern after she had told me how vulnerable she would be while healing Maul.

Even if she were able to eat properly and stay hydrated, this long of a surgery was going to leave her incredibly vulnerable while she had to painstakingly heal Maul's anatomy. She was going to have to help it grow back and ensure it functions like it’s supposed to.

I can’t have him be handicapped if a leg is too slow to react to the people we will be fighting against. Not just the Jedi, but Sidious and potentially Dooku. Dooku could side with us or he could use us and lead us to our dooms with Sidious if he didn’t think we had a chance.

Too many risks were involved, which is why I was willing to take the chance to let Maul reclaim what was lost. Pitou wouldn’t be completely at his mercy when she completed his healing if he tried to harm her, the Magnaguards weren’t there just for their protection from intruders but also Pitou’s.

That and having Solution hidden away in the chamber as a just in case policy. I would be close by, continuing my Nen training alongside Nemesis, which, according to Pitou, we both had achieved acceptable levels in Ten and Ren to begin water divination.

“Do not worry, Tobi, Maul won’t try anything. He is too smart to do such a foolish thing.” Her tail waved through the air excitedly as she got closer to me.

“… You just gave him a compliment. I’m glad you two are starting to enjoy one another’s company. Also…” My hand gently ran up her arm as she shivered in delight, her eyes dilating as I got even closer, to the point I had her pinned to the wall. “Are you… interested in me?”

I knew it was obvious, Kama Sutra and my transformation into an incubus showed me all the signs were there. But it wasn’t something I wanted when she would do so because I was her master, the reason for her being here and nearly following all orders without issue or complaint. I wasn’t going to force Pitou to sleep with me regardless of how attractive I found her. My parents didn’t raise a sleazebag, and I wasn’t going to prove otherwise.

She had gone back to wearing the revealing Hutt-style belly dancer clothes with sheer netting that hugged her body, with her modest chest now back to normal. She let out a hot, shaky breath, practically taking my scent in entirely before she gave her answer with all the confidence someone has of knowing what they want without any doubts or hesitation stopping them.

“Yes. I am… very interested,” She practically purred while staring up into my eyes like a moth drawn to flame, “In you, Tobi.”

“Not because I am your summoner or King, but because you're interested in me personally? For who I am and not what I am to you?”

She didn’t even hesitate in answering. “Who you are. If you wish to order me, I will do as commanded. But you do not and have allowed me a choice… I choose you because I like you. Not as my King, or my summoner, but because of who you are to me.”

Before I could ask another question, she closed the distance and gave a quick peck on my lips before she pulled back as I was stunned silent. It took everything I had to not take her back to the private bedchambers at that moment.

Pitou knew this, and despite eagerly wanting this, she knew what I was intending this to be. “Go and heal Maul. Consider this your reward for helping me so much and for doing such a massive task without complaint. I promise it will be something you never forget.”

My hand gently brushed her cheek as her smile grew warmer and her cheeks flushed before she turned away and began the procedure to heal Maul with her Nen ability with the doors sealing closed behind her. The various Magnaguards and servants, along with some mercenaries, are on alert and taking this seriously after they all were informed prior to what they needed to do.

I wasn’t about to take any chances with Pitou being at her most vulnerable along with Maul. To lose both now would set me back in a lot of ways, not enough to be game over, but it would put me in a tough position. It also helped that I had grown attached to Pitou. Maul, I enjoyed his company, but I couldn’t say it was the same on his end.

It didn’t take me long to get back to the grind with nearly all of my Abilities removed besides Haki. That power alone would remain forever on, regardless of how safe or invulnerable I thought myself to be.

White Shadow said it best when he spoke to Huey-- Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean we aren’t out to get you.

So I sat there with a transparisteel cup with water in it in front of me while sampling various finger foods and spitting the majority I tasted back out, beyond a select few, into a nearby trash can and handing the leftovers to the servants and staff.

“Yes, give me more food. Oh~ So delicious.” Morey’s voice greeted my ears as he lounged coiled lazily around a small tree that twisted around the area as a decoration near me.

“Whoever made these pieces of food, hire them full-time as dedicated chefs.” I said to the servant who nodded and walked off.

Pitou had left behind extensive notes and recordings for me so that I might continue my Nen training once I knew what my innate Nen category was. My hands wrapped around the cup of water made of a deceptively durable material and let my Ren loose but without it bothering those near me. It was nowhere even remotely close to the devastation Nemesis could put out when released. The walking bioweapon may as well double as a mini nuke with Ren.

While my Ren was not weak by any means, when compared to the monsters like Pitou and Nemesis, I was lacking. Directing the Ren towards the cup with it drawn out of the air and fully directed at the water. It didn’t pour out of the cup, and no obvious change occurred to the water, but the floating leaf is what tipped me off.

Instead of just one leaf, a second one appeared right next to it, then the water became weird. I knew Nen could do some strange stuff when it came to the water divination test, but it was another thing to witness it with my own eyes. It says a lot when I find it more strange than some of the stuff I have seen up to this point.

The water divided itself into six layers, like a pie being sliced six ways. Portions of the water form ripples in distinct zones, making the surface churn in random spots. The transparisteel even showed faint internal condensation patterns that lined up with each divided section.

Then the water returned back to normal as if the translucent, barely visible lines were all in my imagination. Just when I was about to ask aloud what the hell that was, it started appearing at random, but always six lines divided in the water. Then it continues to do this with the water distorting and the leaf randomly creating more copies of itself, with some becoming brittle and withering away.

Sitting back and ending Ren, the water reverts completely back to normal as I look over the notes Pitou had left me. I didn’t remember the exact specifics of what the water did for each category of Nen user, but that looked like something pretty special.

The kind of thing I should remember from the series this power originated from is but I didn't, but I do have her notes, and so far they didn’t fit any one category of the main ones besides the last one she listed.

[Snow Warning]
|Uncommon Ability|
Allows the user to summon a snowstorm on their location that slightly boosts ice-based abilities.

Somewhat useful if I had something beyond just that ability for ice. Still could be used if I had time and could spam it to make it difficult for any enemies to move across an area.

My thoughts went back to the glass of water. It was something that didn’t fit the more conventional methods of categorizing the effects observed from the other Nen categories. This… I could work with this. Esper was kicking into overdrive along with anything else that would help me, even if it was something as simple as making it look better.

Ideas went through my mind like slips of paper caught up in a typhoon. Each one had merit but was discarded until one in particular came in and just stuck like a plastic bag from Walmart on your windshield wiper and just wouldn’t go away.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized how this could help me quite a bit. In fact, it might be what I needed to get so much done and not feel strapped for time like I have been. Even right now the pressure to get so much done before the war drags me back out again if I let it has made me kind of annoyed.

I have women that want me besides the fact I have a higher station but legitimately find me attractive and plenty of food, but now it needs to be something I can actually enjoy. It’s like when I had a stomach flu and bit into a burger from Wendy’s… to this day I won’t eat Wendy’s because of that. It was like I could taste only the grease off of that thing.

And now it’s like that with nearly all the food. What’s the point of surviving and living if you can’t enjoy yourself?! So now I needed to figure out a way to get all of that done while, above all else, continuing my training if I even wanted a sliver of hope to stop Palpatine and any other would-be bad guys from taking over and ruining what enjoyment I could have in this galaxy while also keeping the good guys from killing themselves because, for whatever reason, they never knew of touching grass and connecting back with the galaxy.

With my Hatsu set, I began training with the only Ability equipped beyond Haki, which was my Booster. Esper helped me figure out what directions to go when developing it, as my training went up several notches since I hadn’t been this motivated since I got here and realized I was going to die as nothing more than collateral damage if I didn’t get stronger.

Nemesis was joining me not in developing a Hatsu, since I had left that up to Pitou, as she was the one who taught it and would know best how to continue teaching him, especially when it came down to his own Hatsu. I just hoped Pitou was not having as hard of a time repairing Maul.

She truly was Best Girl.

…

The first thing Maul felt was pain returning to him. It was an old friend he had both hated and loved paradoxically. It gave him power when he needed it, yet it was something he had felt all his life, and he had come to not enjoy it nor dread it but accept it as a staple of his life. When he was younger, he had been hesitant to feel any pain.

Pain was something he had grown accustomed to, as one would a hangnail or some other insignificant annoyance that brought some minor pain. Pain came in all forms, but the one he dreaded above all else was his former master. He was like an artist, his brush was the pain he harnessed as a weapon and tool, and Maul or any other he came across was the canvas.

This pain wasn’t the dull kind he had grown used to. Not the dulled absence of where his legs had once existed, nor the phantom sensations that had occasionally been inflicted upon him in the early days of his time on that trash planet when he awoke thinking he could feel them, only to fall into a depressed, angry state where he vented his hate and anger on his surroundings when reminded of what was lost and believed to be forever gone.

This pain was real, not phantom pains or memories but actual pain from where he lost everything. He lay upon an operating table strapped down as Pitou did something, but he didn’t know what. He sensed a disturbance in the Force that hovered over and around Pitou where she sat in a comfortable chair that looked out of place in the room. Whatever it was, it wasn't a threat to him. Then again he couldn’t exactly figure out what it was.

The dozen Magnaguards towered over him in the room, on all sides, and he didn’t doubt there were more stationed around them where they were in the deepest part of the castle. Tobi had the wisdom to place them in the most secure part of it, with plenty of protection… from outside and within. Maul was no fool, he could sense that Pitou was vulnerable while healing him, and they were here as much for her protection as they were for his.

The droids had their electrostaffs angled outward in silent vigilance, neither moving nor making any sound. Maul would privately admit the temptation to kill Pitou was there when this was done, but he wouldn’t follow through with it. As annoying as she was, for her pestering and needling him with both her physical and verbal taunts, he would acknowledge her power.

Her usefulness to their shared master could not be understated, for even Maul, in the height of battle against a worthy foe, would not be so foolish as to kill such an asset and ally to the one he… served. Did he serve Tobi? Maul didn’t know what to think of the man.

He had his respect, and Maul owed him a great debt. Unlike his former master, Sidious. Tobi had gone out of his way to find him on the Force-forsaken planet he ended up on after his final battle on Naboo, whereas Sidious had left him there to rot. Whether he knew he was alive or not was unknown. Maul leaned towards him, genuinely believing him dead.

Anger at the thought festered inside of him, directed at his old master. He so readily gave up on searching for him despite nobody having been found, and all his training should have made Sidious not give up so easily, yet he did.

Maul had learned of how Tobi had learned where he had resided. His fingers curled and made the metal table groan as another flare of pain from the nerves that he had long since believed were dead and destroyed so thoroughly that he for the longest time believed he couldn’t feel them anymore.

Just another reason to keep Pitou around, for like Tobi, he could learn much from her. Her focus was absolute, nothing distracted her from the task at hand. Her ears were slightly lowered, eyes half-lidded, and tail nearly completely still except for the faintest occasional twitch when she struck another nerve. It wasn’t random, and he also knew she wasn’t doing it to torment him.

Like how he used to be with his old master, Pitou took her tasks, especially important ones that Tobi deemed as such… but unlike Sidious, who demanded him to be beyond perfection and severely punished failure and ignorance. But like usual, her presence was abnormal to his senses aided by the Force.

It wasn’t the dark side nor the Force itself. He knew Tobi would readily give him answers without obscuring the truth entirely. As Pitou mapped out his nerves and began to get an idea of what she was doing, she finally began her work. Whatever expensive robes Tobi threw at Maul that he couldn’t even begin to describe what he felt at the idea of being given such expensive gifts were long since removed.

He lay there as his flesh slowly began to shift and move. It was slow at first, but it soon gained in speed. It was still far too slow for his liking as it itched, and he felt the pain of it, his bones shifting, feeling every bit of it. Pitou had offered, to his surprise, a sedative, but he turned it down. Despite some level of trust between Tobi and himself, he didn’t trust them enough to willingly let himself be put under.

He had no delusion to believe he could fight his way out of here as he is now. Pitou, alongside these droids, was enough to handle him, despite how much it rankled his pride to admit it even to himself. If he had a lightsaber and a means to stand up, then he might have been able to fight her long enough for him to escape.

He didn’t use the sedative, besides an issue of fully trusting them, as foolish as that was since he sensed no deception from either of them. It was something, he was still coming to terms with the trust they were willing to show him. Even the acts of kindness… Maul still wondered when the torture and punishment would begin. It was something Sidious would have done back when he first had him taken from his mother.

A wince when the flesh was growing with the bone, new nerves being formed after Pitou had warned him. The pale near-human was focused entirely on her task, her expression one of pure concentration on repairing him. Maul’s thoughts drifted to Kenobi. He blamed him for everything… or he had.

Now… he realized Tobi was right. He didn’t want to admit to it back on the planet when he had his chance for revenge. But the more he thought about it, the sooner he realized he was right. He had fallen not to Kenobi but to himself. Kenobi may have been the blade that cut him, but the crack in his defense was created by himself, made from his own arrogance and hubris.

And due to his own actions, instead of ending the fight with Kenobi, he toyed with him, and that was the final nail that was needed to shatter him. That simple truth haunted him more than any wound.

Tobi giving him the chance for revenge but at the cost of learning from him was one of the hardest decisions he was ever given. He found himself thankful he chose to continue learning. He still didn’t like Kenobi, he hated him, in fact, for even if Maul was at fault, it didn’t change the fact that Kenobi still struck him down.

Now would he go after him when he was stronger and make an example out of him? Maybe. Or maybe he wouldn’t. Maul didn’t know what he would do. In one moment he could imagine his crimson blade taking his head, wiping that stupid smirk off of his face, in the other he thought of his former master and how he readily abandoned him. His hate grew stronger at the thought of him, and it easily eclipsed his own hatred towards Kenobi.

He had time to think it over on what he would do to the Jedi. The first day blurred into a giant haze of pain, heat, and cold. But he felt something that helped him move above the pain and remain level headed-- the feeling of his flesh returning where before there had been nothing.

A smile wormed its way onto his face, with the dark side growing along with his pain. That cold creeping darkness that simultaneously gave him the fire deep within to push well beyond what a Jedi could hope to match. Soon he would be returned to his previous state and then beyond that.

Tobi was powerful, and Maul, like the dutiful student he is, would learn all he could from him. Even if he was cut off from the Force by his own hand willingly, Maul still was horrified by anyone willingly doing such a thing, but he could understand his master's reasoning. He didn’t care for the Force controlling him, so he chose another path.

Maul idly wondered if his downfall was also orchestrated by the Force… no. Even if it did, it hinged on Maul's arrogance being what caused it all to go wrong. Now if it wasn’t and the Force had actively gone out of its way to kill him, then that would be another story entirely.

He felt things being reconnected from nerves to tissue and then to his bones. All of it grew back, and it felt like a small eternity as he watched and felt his flesh slowly return. Maul was not even certain how much time had passed, the chamber was dark, and with no form of telling how much time had passed, it didn’t help the madness that still clung to him.

Maul used the Force to help him stay focused and keep that quivering, jabbering, chaotic mess that hung onto him no matter how hard he tried to shake it off from controlling his actions. Its roots ran deep, and yet again he questioned if he should go to his mother but, like the other times, crushed the thought.

Even if she may be a better alternative compared to Sidious, she too would seek to control him. He knew full well of the culture that permeated Dathomir, his homeworld. His groin had been regrown with all the parts attached to it, his legs now nearing where his knees should be as his teeth grit together as he had to fight the urge to make the pain go away along with the incessant itching.

Pitou hadn’t said a word the entire time, the droids occasionally bringing her water to drink but no food. She worked diligently and tirelessly, never once pausing or stopping what she was doing to restore him.

His respect for Pitou grew, for her dedication was commendable. His mother would seek to control him and make him subservient, which was something he currently could not tolerate. If he were without aid in the form of Tobi, and Sidious personally came for him, then he would cave and get his mother's aid.

But only if he had no other choice. Here, he had an easy one. Tobi so far has aided him and kept true to his word, not just the letter but, more importantly, the spirit of it. He also hadn’t kept him chained and leashed, only letting him out when he needed him. He wasn’t foolish enough to lie to himself and believe Tobi wouldn’t do something to him should he try something.

But he was far more lenient, and Maul had much to gain. Like right now. Hours, maybe even days, after the estimate he had given might have gone by, he didn’t know. Only the pain that came from the growing flesh from his lower body. The regrown parts from his hips down to his knees no longer hurt, only the ends where they continued to grow.

Time blurred together before he finally spoke, breaking the long silence beyond his occasional grunts and groans. “A Sith Lord once told me I would become more than I was,” He said, letting out a hiss from a particular nerve around his shins. “He lied.”

At that, Pitou finally glanced up from her work. She looked tired, but it was only superficial. After all he had witnessed of her, he knew this wasn’t something that would deter her from healing him regardless of how exhausted she was.

Her expression is not pity but curiosity, showing her mild interest. “I assume he taught you?”

She looked back down at her work as she sat cross-legged in that chair, never once moving from her position.

“Yes. He had taught me much, even if I am now beginning to question if he was a good teacher.”

“And what do you think of Tobi?” She asked lightly.

Maul hesitated when he put some thought into it. Back when he was still apprenticed to him, Maul would have called Tobi a soft-hearted fool that was too weak despite all of his power. Now… He realized how foolish and naive he had been back then.

Tobi was exercising restraint, if he had to use a show of force, he would. Like cementing his Quiet Hands reputation amongst the galaxy. Maul saw the wisdom in such an act, as well as his other decisions. All had layers to them that cascaded into plans upon plans. Several of which Maul hadn’t even realized when he was so caught up in his desire for revenge against Kenobi, he was blind to so much. Yet his desire for vengeance against him was also partly hard-coded into him from all the years from the very person who abandoned him.

His hatred of the Jedi, and now he questioned if they were his main enemies still… They were still his enemies, but now he had a greater enemy. His old master.

“He does not teach like my old master, Sidious, did.” Maul said carefully as he looked up at the dark ceiling, doing his utmost to focus on the conversation and not the constant pain he felt from his flesh being grown and knitted back together. “Sidious only took from me and taught me through pain as a medium. He demanded much while punishing even the slightest mistake.”

Pitou hummed softly as if she were filing that part away. He continued. “Tobi, in comparison, listens. He lets me choose even if they are simple choices. He… said he wanted me to reach my full potential and to go beyond that. Sidious… he would never have allowed such a thing when I look back at all my memories of him.”

“Then be grateful our shared master, Tobi, had taken an interest in you. For if not for him, you would still be on that trash planet wasting away both body and mind.” She said simply. It wasn’t an insult but a statement of the obvious. Something Maul himself had known and found himself thankful for was all that had been given to Maul.

“I intend on showing my gratitude by not betraying him.” Maul said with some honesty. Tobi so far had shown many unique abilities that he still questioned how it was possible without the usage of the Force. But that wouldn’t stop Maul from attempting to recreate them.

With it, Maul would have the power to at least play a part in toppling his old master for his betrayal and abandonment like a broken tool. From Maul’s earliest memories until now, Sidious had always been above him. He was an unreachable god demanding obedience, any questions were deemed weakness, and all failures, no matter how small, required corrective measures. Above all else, Sidious made it known to Maul he was his personal tool and was never meant to be more than that.

In comparison, Tobi asked him what he thought, he allowed him to remain silent and didn’t strike him for any questions, only redirecting him to think about things in ways he never had before, helping him grow.

Pitou nodded slowly, seemingly pleased by his answer. “I suppose that will be good enough for now.” She herself didn’t like the answer, but she let it slide, knowing that in the end the only one’s opinion that mattered was Tobi’s. She and Maul both shared that in common, save the difference was that the one she served was deserving of such loyalty, even if Maul was still wary of Tobi. Old habits didn’t just change in a few days, especially when it was something drilled into him the day Sidious had taken him all those years ago.

In due time he would be back to his old self and, with Tobi’s help, topple his master from his would-be throne, and he would be there to see it all happen.
