Let Chaos Reign Chapter 18: A Warning Ignored

The body I hijacked moved along the base for the Republic forces, none of the clones questioning me. Why would they when I was currently inside of one of their brothers? That new power, Pilot, I immediately put to use and hijacked his body when he was looking in my direction and I watched him from a distance. The nice thing about it is they don’t even need to know I am there, so long as I can see them, that is all that matters.

It didn’t work through surveillance and only with me having line of sight of them with my own eyes. Body jacked him while his consciousness was the equivalent of being asleep, but not entirely. Kind of like that weird state you can have when you're halfway awake and half asleep.

He would probably remember bits and pieces of what happened, and thankfully it doesn’t cost me much energy to keep going, in fact, I’d go so far as to say it was barely costing me anything. I could stay inside of this guy for years without worrying about having to leave.

Not that I would. It was one thing to kill someone, it was another thing entirely to kill their consciousness or soul and take their body for yourself. The clones moved around, either checking weapons and supplies, eating rations and trading war stories, or giving advice to others.

It was cozy in a weird sort of way. About as cozy as an active battle could be with the droid army in the distance fighting the others on the front line when the droids moved back into the city. I moved along seeing the one I was after.

He looked in far better shape than I expected from someone who endured Pitou’s tender mercies. Anakin had some bacta patches placed on parts of his body with bandages wrapped in others, but he moved around with only slight winces. Ahsoka and Obi-Wan were by his side going over their current battle plans.

A few of the corpses Pitou used to infiltrate and see what they aim to do were watching and acting like they were still alive. I nonchalantly walked up, pushing my way through the various soldiers, with them grumbling and getting upset as Anakin paused at the commotion, confused, before his lightsaber was out, followed by the other two when I fired a bolt past his head.

“Skywalker, I have come to bargain.”

The various clones had their weapons aimed at me. “What do you think you're doing, Grunt? Have you lost your mind?!” One of the clones said, knowing the body I inhabited.

I chuckled before responding. “Grunt is on vacation for now, you can call me Tobi.”

Everyone paused at what I had said before they were stunned to watch one of Ahsoka’s lightsabers fly out of her grip into my waiting hand, courtesy of Tool Manipulation. The blaster was tossed to the side, with me taking the helmet off, showing the face of another clone, with everyone completely confused, not understanding what was happening.

A gesture towards Ahsoka. “Good to see you, short stuff. How's that diet going for you?”

Her eyes widened before they narrowed. “I don’t need a diet. And how are you doing this, Tobi? Is Grunt dead?” The last part sounded like she wasn’t going to be happy if he was.

Anakin looked apocalyptic yet ecstatic at the same time. Guess he’s holding a grudge. Obi-Wan was the only one who kept a good poker face but I could feel the horror at what he was witnessing. Ahsoka was happy to see me but at the same time upset.

“Oh but I disagree. It hasn’t been once, but twice I had to keep you from falling. Man what do you guys feed this girl, I swear I was going to drop her if she gained anymore weight when Paladin knocked her off the building. And don’t worry about Grunt, he is still alive and his consciousness is just… asleep. Needed to use his body here for a moment. You can shoot me but it won’t do a thing to me besides angering me at you killing your still living brother.”

The various clones had their blasters aimed right at me, not a word spoken as a rising tension filled the silence. Haki showed me all that I needed to know from their emotions. Ahsoka blushed in embarrassment and relief when she realized I was telling the truth before Anakin stepped forward, his lightsaber held at the ready.

The clones kept their distance but had me surrounded. They let Anakin move through as his blade was held at the ready. “Anakin, let's hear what he has to say.” Obi-Wan told him, breaking the silence as Anakin froze on the spot, looking like it was pulling teeth for him to not fight me here and now.

Obi-Wan looked at me. “You said you came here to bargain, correct?”

I nodded, giving a small smile to the man who had been the biggest pain in Palpatine’s ass without even knowing it at the time. “Yes. I’m here to try and get you all to leave.”

Stunned silence. The clones didn’t know what to think of that, they weren’t necessarily angry, more shocked. Anakin was insulted and not happy, Obi-Wan confused, and Ahsoka was unsure.

“To leave? You do realize we are here to fight the Separatists forces and help free this planet… So you're an ally of the Separatists?” Obi-Wan was trying to fish for information.

“Nope. Well… I am a temporary ally of theirs for now. A means to an end if you would.” Anakin and Obi-Wan both looked at one another now confused as Obi-Wan shrugged towards Anakin.

Haki told me a clone intended to stun me and I simply blocked it with other clones now joining not because they planned it but because one did it and they were doing it because I was an enemy and someone opened fire. The circular stun bolts were blocked and dispersed with me slicing through blasters when they got to close.

A mental flex and an Almighty Push was released, pushing the clones back and knocking almost all of them down as they groaned. Anakin flinched at the display of power while Obi-Wan perked up. Ahsoka was frowning at me, but I felt the relief she had when she realized the clones were alive.

“Enough.” Anakin looked ready to attack as he stormed up.

"Anakin," Obi-Wan said in a warning tone. “Let’s hear him out without anyone starting a fight.” He looked towards the clones and gestured for them to stand down as they reluctantly did as ordered.

Anakin just glared at me. “You can’t be serious. Obi-Wan he injured our men, is currently residing within Grunt's body, and you want to talk with him? After he was a part of what happened to our forces back in the city.”

Anakin was fuming. He was struggling to not strike me down right where I stood. From what I knew of Pilot and what Esper told me about it, he would just kill Grunt and nothing would happen to me. I would be fine beyond feeling the brief sensation of a lightsaber slicing through me before I died. It was like waking up from a dream where you could feel everything.

“I know Anakin, but he has saved Ahsoka twice now, if he was the one that managed to save her, then we can at least hear him out. He is here to bargain, though I think you have much to work on when it comes to that.” He tacked on the last part, giving me a cheeky smile.

I chuckled like a bashful kid realizing he made a fool of himself. “Fair enough. To be fair to myself, back when I was at war, we didn’t do things like this. We just killed our enemies, eye for an eye and all that.”

Everyone paused at that while the clones slowly got up, many of them groaning and grunting. They were in pain but nothing was broken and Almighty Push’s cooldown had long since ended so if I needed to do it again I could.

Everyone just looked at me. The clones had some respect for what was said, the three Jedi, Ahsoka included, looked like I grew a second head.

I just shrugged. “Everyone has to start from somewhere.” Anakin’s eyes narrowed and Ahsoka’s widened in recognition when my voice shifted to Madara’s. “So I highly recommend you guys leave this planet before it gets ugly. I can assure all of you, it will, very quickly.”

Obi-Wan looked deep in thought before he opened his mouth only to have Anakin beat him to the punch. “No. Why are we going to surrender when we have you surrounded? We are not leaving especially when we can handle whatever you have to throw at us.

“Master!” Ahsoka exclaimed.

“Anakin.” Obi-Wan groaned, already having a bad feeling of how this was going to end.

“Uh did you forget this isn’t my body? I can leave Grunt at any time. Tell you what… I will start by apologizing for my coworkers actions in how they handled you. I know they got rougher than what was deemed necessary but it all worked out and you can see you are outmatched.” I said calmly and succinctly.

It didn’t seem to work with Anakin's eye twitching. “You also have forgotten how you almost killed my Padawan after beating her.” He said through clenched teeth.

“… That was self-defense, and I saved her when she almost had an accident.” I held a finger up after a moment’s contemplation.

“That’s it!” Anakin swung at my current body. Using Tool Manipulation I pulled Obi-Wan’s one lightsaber and Ahsoka’s other one. With the one already in my hand blocking Anakin’s power strike, the other two lightsabers forced Anakin away as he reassessed the situation, realizing this wasn’t going to be easy.

The body's eyes shifted with Anakin’s widening before narrowing with Obi-Wan himself looking intrigued at the shift in the clone's eyes to a one tomoe Sharingan as everything in my field of view slowed down. Every twitch of his skin, muscle, and slight adjustment of his body was seen and recorded.

Ahsoka looked surprised at me taking her lightsabers after she glanced down to make sure they were gone, and Obi-Wan… He looked on in awe and surprise when the two weapons floating in the air proceeded to match Anakin’s strikes using what I knew of the few lightsaber forms I had managed to try and recreate.

One weaved around him, moving around Anakin as if the weapon were wielded by someone using high speed acrobatics, and the other poked and prodded his defenses using what looked like a fencer's form. Anakin held his own, blocking and retaliating, trying to push past the weapons only to get stonewalled and pushed back unless he wanted to get carved to pieces.

The clones raised their weapons to open fire only to instead get their weapons unceremoniously yanked out of their hands and tossed far off into the camps. Feelings of surprise and shock filled the camp as clones questioned why blasters were falling on them yet not a single one noticed the strands of silk.

Word was spreading fast as the clones were beginning to realize they had an enemy amidst their ranks. I calmly walked forward, the clone trooper armor tapping against the body I was using as Anakin grit his teeth, fighting against the two sabers before they slowed for a moment, twitching as they tried to follow my commands before they were yanked as I let my control over them go.

Obi-Wan grasped one of the weapons alongside Ahsoka. Anakin glanced back as I remained where I stood. “Good work you two. Now let’s get him.”

I turned Obi-Wan’s lightsaber off and waited calmly as Anakin looked ready to take my head off. I was undaunted nor intimidated by it. I felt for the owner of the body but I could feel what Obi-Wan and Ahsoka felt. Ahsoka was torn, she didn’t want either of us to fight. She didn’t want any of this, and I knew she wasn’t thrilled hearing how I was with the Separatists now.

Obi-Wan was willing to hear me out if only to gather more information. “Stop Anakin.” He said quietly yet it may as well have been loud enough for everyone to hear. “Let’s hear him out.”

Through Haki I knew he was now interested after the display of Tool Manipulation controlling those lightsabers as if a pair of duelists were behind each blade instead of it being held aloft by what to him had to be the Force when there was nothing to sense.

Between that and me bodyjacking a clone with a power that to them would look like Essence Transfer, or some other power that let me hop from one body to another. Kenobi had his guard up even if he hid it well. He walked closer as Anakin looked like he wanted to ignore Kenobi’s decision and attack anyways when his back was turned as he gave me the mother of all glares, lips peeled back into a grimace before he relented and did as told.

My grateful smile didn’t seem to help as he glared even harder. Obi-Wan extinguished the lightsaber alongside Ahsoka as they walked up with Obi-Wan signaling the clones to stand down. They lowered their weapons but didn’t take their eyes off of me.

I looked around, nodding at them, pleased with what was shown. “Glad to see most of your men are still alive. I was trying my best to use the kid gloves with them.”

“Kid gloves?! Tobi, you injured most of them!” Ahsoka waved her hand in the clone's direction.

“Sweet! No one died. I can live with that.” I smiled happily.

That meant they didn’t die, were injured and so couldn’t fight effectively so they were on medical leave or whatever equivalent they get, all on Palpatine's dime… a win in my books!

Ahsoka came up short not knowing how to respond to that besides some relief sensed through Haki when she felt I was telling the truth. She was putting that Force power to good use. Curious to see just how far she gets with it.

“While we are grateful you were kind enough to be gentle with our men and not kill most of them,” Obi-Wan said, giving Anakin some serious side eye when he looked ready to say something counter productive. “You also injured quite a few that will take some time to recover. While you managed to repel our advance this battle is far from won. What makes you so confident it would be in our best interest to leave now?”

Anakin felt like he bit into a lemon. He hid it visually, probably having gotten pretty good at hiding how he really feels when he needs to in moments of importance like this. But he did not like the fact he couldn’t attack me even when I have said multiple times he can kill the clone I am currently controlling, but it won’t do anything meaningful to me.

Honestly, it makes me think of how far gone he was in Revenge of the Sith when Obi-Wan tried to talk some sense into him and he soon realized how lost Anakin was. Goes to show how dangerous anger can be when you let it have a voice in your decisions.

“Well… for starters, me and the other members of the Quiet Hand did a number on you and your forces when it was just us and not an army of battle droids backing us up. If they did and went against my orders, you guys would be captured if not dead."

Anakin looked about ready to argue that but Obi-Wan cut him off, likely sensing Anakin’s dislike of me. Ahsoka herself had crossed her arms and was giving me an unimpressed look. “Be that as it may, we are not leaving. We have orders, and quite frankly, beyond those orders, we cannot leave this planet at the mercy of the Separatists.”

“So you're not going to leave? Even when you don’t fully know all of what I alone can do with the brief showing of both my skills with a blade and other gifts, not to mention the forces we have brought with us, you still intend to stay and fight?”

“You’re damn right we are. I still owe you for what you did to my Padawan.” Anakin growled out, eyes full of anger.

“I agree with Tobi. We should retreat.” Ahsoka said, making both older Jedi and some clones look at her.

“What are you talking about, Ahsoka? We can win this. He is just trying to psych us out instead of focusing on winning this battle.” Anakin eyed me while talking to her, not happy in the slightest that his own apprentice who knew I was giving them a way out was willing to do as I suggested.

A suggestion that I hoped they realized they might be in over their heads and going against me and the others that they wouldn’t have a good time fighting against. It was my way of letting them walk away with a few bruises to show for it.

Not that I wanted them to have those bruises, but I guess the Force since fate in this universe is controlled by it didn’t want to make it easy on me. Not that it was hard to defeat them how I did. If I was going lethal from the beginning they would be dead. Just my strings alone would prove a massive advantage.

Now that didn’t mean Anakin couldn’t counter them. His lightsaber like my own could cut them regardless if I charged enough Sharpness to make them capable of cutting between molecules. That didn’t matter even if the base thread itself was charged up even more with enough energy to make them far more durable. A lightsaber was superheated plasma further enhanced by the Force since Esper told me enough to know it wasn’t normal.

The point being, the lightsaber could cut through the threads and sever them from my body, removing my control. Sure, Tool Manipulation would help compensate for that, but it was something best used on only a few objects. I quickly learned it was taxing not necessarily on energy but mentally, though it wasn’t something that could be abused for long periods of time. It’d be like trying to control and drive multiple cars yourself while also messing with your phone. It’s not something that was easy or simple.

“Master! We were beaten with the boys backing us up by only four people. The next time we face… Tobi,” Her face scrunched when mentioning she would have to fight me. She was going to make my heart ache acting like that. “He will have the Separatists backing him up. We should retreat while we can.”

Anakin had already made up his mind if that look of determination in his eyes was anything to go by. Obi-Wan was giving Ahsoka a calculating look before he slowly took his eyes off of Ahsoka. “Under normal circumstances I would agree with you, Ahsoka, but unfortunately retreat is not an option… especially now.”

I nodded my head slowly, hoping they would heed the warning and simply leave. “I am sorry to hear that. I can say this much at least, if worst comes to worst, with Ahsoka here, I will do my utmost to make sure no harm comes to her and protect her as best I can. I unfortunately cannot make that promise to either you or your men.”

Anakin snorted at that, completely dismissive of my words, while Obi-Wan had a surge of surprise in his emotions. Obi-Wan nodded respectfully in my direction. “We and our men appreciate the thought.”

Anakin had his arms crossed, glaring at me. I nodded respectfully back at both of them. “It was good meeting you two and seeing Tubby over there." I pointedly ignored the indignant squawk that Ahsoka gave me at the comment on her weight. “I did wish it was under different circumstances, but it is what it is. Good luck to both of you and your men.”

Any control I had over the body was relinquished as my eyes fluttered open, feeling my head lying on something soft and warm. I was greeted to the sight of Solution cradling my head on her lap as she smiled down at me. A quick sweep with Haki showed Pitou on a nearby building sparring against Maul while he was in the suit.

She was learning the various lightsaber forms incredibly fast. My own skill with a blade and observing them with Haki told me that she was getting good pretty fast, enough that she could surpass my current level of skill if given enough time. Maul himself was no slouch in that suit, getting better with it as each second ticked by.

It was to my great reluctance to get up and out of the surprisingly warm lap of Solution after giving her a new outfit to her surprise and complete joy. Then the best part-- new powers to unlock!

[Tinker - Sustenance]
|Uncommon Ability|
This tinker speciality allows you to build, modify and design constructs related to sustenance. You can create things such as efficient farms, incredibly efficient water purifiers and water condensers, blood alternatives for vampires, hyper-efficient food bars, life force alternatives made specifically for consumption, greater light projectors for plants, etc. The more different kinds of sustenance requirements you encounter, the more varied tech you can make.

This… wasn’t too bad with what I had planned for Tatooine. In fact, I could use this along with my newly gained power to create metal to save some money and make even more. It all came at the low cost of somehow upsetting Anakin on such a level he would hold a grudge against me for life… What the hell did I do to him to deserve that?!

A few power swaps and a few hours later, with a massive wall of mist covering what I was doing from the Republic, the ground had been turned into a massive mud pit.

Mud going on about a mile outside of the city in a massive radius, with the outer edge to the city now sporting hardened earth structures, ranging from meter-thick walls, if not thicker, with openings for the droids stationed along them to open fire, to elevated platforms to give snipers and artillery a better shot while also providing cover.

I sat cross legged putting up the final touches, directing the droids to the tactical droids' annoyance. It had long since learned to remain silent, not that I was against suggestions. The issue was its suggestions sucked. Like wasting way too many B1s for front-line fighting and trying to push back the Republic forces now that they weren’t in the city.

Yes, they were vulnerable, and yes, they could be forced into a full-on retreat. The issue was how many resources would be wasted when we just needed to hold the city. The Republic wasn’t getting much in the form of air support like us because both fleets were busy handling each other. We could instead conserve our forces and resources as they break themselves against our walls.

We would lose forces no matter what. But this way we didn’t lose the bulk of our ground troops doing something that Anakin and Obi-Wan could and probably would end up turning it around in their favor.

How they would do that I have no idea, but I wouldn’t underestimate them. Not only was it insulting to both of them but also because of how far both were willing to go to win. I haven’t forgotten some of the war crimes those two got up to.

The droid commander perked up when Pitou landed softly from leaping off of one of the towering buildings in the distance near us on the commanding platform. “Tobi, they are beginning the attack.”

Her tail whipped through the air in excitement as her eyes looked at me full of mirth and joy. She had gotten decent with the lightsaber hanging from her hip after sparring with Maul. I nodded towards her, taking the communicator and speaking to the various forces under our command as the dry wind made my cloak flutter in the wind dramatically.

“Soldiers of the CIS, I know you haven’t known me long. But I’d like to think you have some trust in me after I and the rest of the Quiet Hand had single-handedly repelled the Republic's forces. Know this! You will not be sent into a suicide charge, for once, possibly the first time ever, you will be holding fortified positions.”

The droids across the city were mostly silent besides the B1s sagging in relief at not marching towards the clones, and for once, the clones came to them. Some of them tightened their servos in their blasters, ready for what was coming. To them, this was payback for every droid brother they had lost and for how the clones and the Republic had treated them.

“I want each of you grizzled badass clone-killing droids to understand this-- as far as I am concerned, a single one of you is easily worth a hundred of their clones! You represent the greatest droid army ever assembled in the history of the galaxy. Now show me what you got!” I raised my fist into the sky as the droids raised their own arms, cheering and applauding my speech even if I felt it was kind of lackluster.

Well, as some actors would put it, if you have enough charisma and make it sound like you believe, then others will believe you. Fake it till you make it. “To your battle stations.”

The droids marched, and the thousands upon thousands of B1 droids filed out into their defensive walls on the edge. The further you get towards the city, the incline goes up, with the cover used by the droids in each defensive layer not good for cover by an attacker from the droids behind the previous outer layer.

I made it this way to ensure the Republic has a bad time trying to get to us. The forces I had divided up, the bulk were placed around the edge the Republic would likely go for with the other areas with still a not so insubstantial amount of droids protecting them with heavy armor for good measure.

The pirates and mercenaries were stationed near the middle levels with some of my Magnaguards with them, with the rest at the center. Let the chaff whittle away the clones and then let the bigger threats handle them when they are worn out. I had confidence that Anakin would struggle against four of the Magnaguards after Maul and Pitou had also helped give them some lessons when fighting against them.

Maul had enough sense not to damage them too badly when fighting them. The droid commander had inquired as to where these Magnaguards had come from and where this many had been hiding. I had ignored the question and let the droid make its own guesses as I brushed it off, barking out orders.

The wall of mist was soon breached by an AT-TE with more joining it as they slowly marched through the mud that the hulking machines pushed through. They struggled, the mud making it slower than it was already with the clones behind them using them as cover to move closer towards the city. The clones had it even worse, like they were moving through liquid molasses, as they were in some areas knee-deep and others were up to their waists in mud.

“Focus fire on the walker's canopy or legs.” The droids all around the walls and fortifications did as ordered, firing away with their blasters. Even with my speech inspiring them, most of them were terrible shots.

But the beautiful part about the B1 was, despite how absolutely trash they were, even if I found them goofy and adorable, they made up for it with their sheer numbers they could be deployed in. Just like in the ye olden times on Earth, they realized if the musket was an inaccurate hunk of shit, then they would just brute force it with numbers.

Case in point-- when the droids rained crimson death towards the walkers, they did manage to hit the legs or the canopy. It took longer than I wanted to admit to, with most of the shots going wide, occasionally hitting an unlucky clone behind the walkers, leaving them dead or drowning in the mud.

One of the walker's legs let out a mechanical groan before it fell into the mud, not moving again. One of the walkers was down, not that it mattered when there were plenty more where that came from. I leaned to the side casually, avoiding a cannon shot from the bigger gun on the back of an AT-TE.

With a flex of my will, the mud surged to life, rising up into a small tidal wave that then slammed down over the walker. The mud slowly fell off it with the one manning the gun, waving and shaking his arms to get it off and trying to wipe it off his helmet.

The driver's canopy couldn’t see anymore with the entirety of the machine covered in mud. Its blaster cannons fired away along with the others as they broke through some sections of walls after a light, sustained barrage. The droids were turned to scrap behind it, yet the losses were minimal.

The clones behind one walker, which, after sustaining shots from mounted heavy blasters, had its pilot taken out as it fell into the mud sinking just enough for the clones behind it to use it for cover. Three of them hefted up heavy rockets and fired the missiles as they flew through the air and took out a few of the mounted turrets in a bloom of fire and smoke.

I used my Haki and senses on the battlefield to direct the droids accordingly, letting Pitou and Maul command their own groups. Solution, I would have let her command some, but she wasn’t exactly commander material in my eyes.

It wasn’t an insult towards her either. She was primarily an assassin and a fighter meant to slow down and stall her enemies. She wasn’t made to lead others from what I remembered of the Overlord anime. So I used her as such. She was currently on standby to start causing chaos should the Republic make it further than the outer walls and get closer towards the center of the city. Which might end up happening as more missile barrages hit the walls and created openings.

Not without cost, with the clones getting gunned down and the walkers taking too much sustained fire in specific points like the front legs or the cockpit. But they were making progress slowly. The first wall was breached with the clones rushing over into the elevated trenches, gunning droids down.

It was like watching two ant colonies go at it, and I found myself enjoying the show despite feeling the pain and deaths of all the clones. A couple of LAAT gunships came zooming by, one of them opening fire on me.

A few lazy steps had me dodge the worst of the shots before aiming my hand and, with a gesture, sending an invisible slash at the vehicle, cutting it in half with the halves slamming into two buildings in an explosion.

Another tried the same thing, firing several missile salvos that were cut out of the air before a blur slammed into one of the wings, cutting it off with a lightsaber before it vanished in another leap. Pitou was enjoying herself as she hung from the side of a building, her tail snaking around behind her. My thankful nod, even if it wasn’t necessary, had her smile grow as a faint red formed on her cheeks. My… darker nature combined with Kama Sutra told me enough to know Pitou was interested.

The clones were doing their best to break through, and even with their better accuracy and training, they paid for every step in the mud with blood. The bulk of their forces finally managed to break past the first outer wall. I idly contemplated if I should have dragged more of them into the mud beyond just the one walker… nah.

This was as much a means for me and Pitou to see what improvements needed to be made to the droid army… and it was a lot. The clones rushed through the trenches and stony corridors with the droids uncaring of them and met them head-on. It was absolute chaos for them.

I noted the better clones were mowing through B1’s and even B2’s with the kind of terrifying efficiency you would see from a lawnmower cutting blades of grass. Each blaster shot was precise, efficient, and, above all else, quick. Each shot was a kill shot before they even landed as they moved from droid to droid.

“Down there. Aim for those clones there.” The tanks did as ordered and prioritized a cluster of clones that looked up, realizing they were being aimed at by several tanks before they leaped for cover when the first heavy blaster cannons fired.

The bulk of the clones died quick deaths, the others were left injured, and those that managed to get to cover couldn’t do anything when the tanks stopped and more droids poured in, overwhelming them.

But the thing that bothered me was this wasn’t the bulk of their forces. It was a lot by all means, but not all of their men were here… What were they up to?

The answer soon came. “Commander, look.” The tactical droid said, pointing in a specific direction while holding futuristic binoculars. Bringing them up since the dots in the distance that were growing were still too far for Haki to detect them.

Looking through the lens I now see what Obi-Wan and Anakin had been up to. A horde of speeder bikes with mounted blasters on them zoomed across the landscape in a wide formation with several dozen speeders deep. What had garnered my attention beyond that was most of the clones had lances like a bunch of damn knights in a jousting tournament.
