Past Research - Toad swarm - Guiro Frog
This musical instrument is one of the percussion instruments, a simpler form resembling a hollow wooden cylinder with several notches cut into the outside (Güiro). Passing a stick over it creates a jerky sound vaguely reminiscent of a frog croaking.
A Great Witch, whose name I will not mention, was trying to create a lute for herself, calmly sitting by a pond. But the incessant croaking of the amphibians living there annoyed her so much that she concentrated her magic to catch them all at once and lock them in the wood she was working on. She had to remake her lute from scratch, because in her hands was a wooden frog with a stick : a guiro frog.
Any unfortunate person who tries to play this instrument finds themselves affected by the witch's involuntary curse and turned into a toad.
The particularly amusing variation on this musical instrument is due to its origin : a whole host of batrachians were locked up in this piece of wood. The musician is transformed into a small army of batrachians. The mortal's consciousness is distributed among the different amphibians, who quickly forget that they were once one and the same mortal.
