I made this post on my bsky last night but I figured I should put a rendition of it here too, an ersatz art recap of four random things I drew this year that I really liked for one reason or another:

the first is a Quattro Bajeena piece that I liked because it encapsulates a lot of what I enjoy about Char, his identity issues and his bloody past and present and future

second is page 9 of Sharkteeth, I liked this one because I got to play a lot and try some new or new-ish things, angles and shadows, and working with the new characterizations of Pepper and Ken, pulling them out of the molds of their original incarnations (old pepper and ken would have never been on the dance floor, and certainly couldn't have been cool and sexy like this lmao)

third is a Judas and Dantalyon piece that I liked because I felt like I could distill their essence and present it well, and I enjoyed letting myself shade it simply and not over-render it, and I enjoyed drawing their clothes lol

and last is a 2000s juné/DMP yaoi manga style cover of Roo's book ANGEL/PEARL, which I liked because it was just so fucking fun to draw and Roo's so cool and he wrote a great book that so completely nailed the feeling of a classic 2000s sexy yaoi comedy, this practically drew itself 😌

This year I'm also gonna try to have a better work-life balance and take one-week breaks every now and then, and NOT just around things I HAVE to break for (family visits, getting sick, etc) [thru gritted teeth] I don't have to be constantly updating & working on my comic every single week of my life
