šŸ October report

We’ve finally reached November! This year more than others, time has seemed to fall from my hands like sand, and I haven’t been able to get as much done as I like. This is all very difficult when I’m struggling with worsening mental health.

October goals:
✲ Commission progress (0/2)
✘ Kinktober [1, 5]
āœ”ļøŽ Upload archives/backlog (4/21)

✲ Commission progress (0/2)

I made decent progress on inks and then hit a wall, but I should be able to finish up at least one outstanding commission this month. Ideally, I’ll be able to clear out my entire queue before the end of the year, but I truly can’t promise anything.

An immense thank you to anyone that has gotten a commission with my characters – since I’ve been low on energy all year, these have given me an excuse to draw them, and it’s fun to have them interacting with others’ characters. I’m flattered, also, that folks have enough interest in my work to do this.

✘ Kinktober

I’ll be quite honest, I may have placed a bit too much pressure on myself to try and explore narrative themes with Aster and his retinue. This is made harder when roughly half of them don’t even have visual references yet, and, try as I might, I couldn’t get into a groove to successfully work out any character concept art. It may be time to pull back and work on some mindless porn with my fishes. 🐠 I certainly have a good handful of WIPs for that group.

(I have also unfortunately begun to miss my human OCs, so I may retreat into their mundane little world soon enough.)

At the very least, I’ve uploaded last year’s Kinktobers here. I hope folks enjoyed seeing them again or for the first time!

āœ”ļøŽ Upload archives/backlog (4/21)

The archive uploads are nearly caught up with commissions, so soon all that’ll be left are sketches and doodles from the vault. The majority of these I want to touch up first, but I also want desperately to clear them out by the end of the year, so we’ll see if time forces my hand.

I say this as someone who no longer has one: perhaps the best thing for an artist is a group of friends with whom to share your sketches and discuss ideas. There’s nothing more helpful for growth, motivation, and general sanity than mutual encouragement, feedback, or critique. Nowadays, I really only get this fleetingly through zines. If you have a group who makes you feel welcome and inspired, treasure them.

Goals for November:

ā—»ļøŽ Commission progress (0/3) - New commissions added, but we’ll steadily work at ā€˜em! I’m excited to get started.
ā—»ļøŽ Upload archives/backlog (≳17)

As a heads up, any personal work here is gonna be severely limited while I’m busy with commissions and other projects over the winter. I mean, hopefully I’ll find some time to treat myself, but those aren’t high hopes.

Thank you, take care.
