January | Blog (Future price increase for [New] Hard/Nightmare subs and Commissions)
Starting next month, the price for future subscribers to the Super Hard ($12) and Super Nightmare ($30) tiers will increase by $2, so Super Hard will become $14 and Super Nightmare will become $32. As a thank you for the current subscribers, your tier price will remain the same as long as you stay subscribed. SubscribeStar is a bit jank with the tiers, so the old versions of those tiers have (Legacy) added to them to differentiate them from the newer higher priced version. I currently have no plans on adding extra slots, so the limited tiers will just be hidden for now. The $2/$5 tiers will remain the same price.
Also next month, I will increase my commission prices slightly. Basically, it will be an increase of about 500 Yen across the board with single full-sized images increasing by 1000 Yen. I'll provide more information with an updated sheet around that time. EX:
Comic Panel: 1000 -> 1500
Full Size Image: 3000 -> 4000
Extra Full Size Image/Character: 2000 -> 3500
Everything else seems fine, so next month requests will resume.
Comics:
Apologies again for taking so long on the comics. I have managed to finish sketching Maractus P4, so hopefully it'll be done this month. Afterward, I'd like to work on the Mismagius comic, which shouldn't be nearly as long (time and length-wise).
Next month, I am probably going to adjust how the poll works so I have more control over how the tier weighting works (it's not customizable at all). I'm not entirely sure how yet, but I'll worry about it more when it's time.
Commissions:
I added extra options for commissions. Now you can use DeviantArt's shop system or SubscribeStars "Pledge" system for payment options. I bought the "Pro" option for DeviantArt for a year, so I will be open there for a while. Depending on how it goes, I'll continue using DA for commissions.
For DeviantArt, I have to manually add options, so if there's something you want that isn't available, DM me and we can sort it out. DeviantArt is a hassle with NSFW, so on there I will mostly only accept SFW.
For SubscribeStar's "Pledge" system, you need to be subscribed to me in any tier in order to have the option visible (the free tier works fine, too). For SubscribeStar, NSFW is generally fine. I'm not completely sure, but I think payment through this method also contributes to my "in waiting" amount for SubscribeStar, so this method is preferable to me (I need $150 in that section in order to request a payout so I actually receive the money).
Health (Or is this really about health insurance?):
Since it's the start of a new year, naturally my insurance takes its time on sorting out issues and causes new problems. My infusion for the month has been delayed several times (I was supposed to take it on the 10th.) Currently, my GI doctor is talking with the insurance to get it sorted out. I don't feel terrible yet, but I've never been completely off this medication for an extended period of time, so I don't know how long that will last. "We don't consider your treatment to be medically necessary." was more or less the letter I got from my insurance. It was a very cold statement.
My dermatology related injections also decided to have a coverage cap of $10k per year. Last time I checked, a 2 dose package (which is supposed to be taken over 4 weeks) cost around $2k without insurance, so this might end up being a problem down the line. Frankly though, I am bad at keeping up with my skin injections, so I know I can last a good amount of time between doses, though it's still possibly concerning. When I was in the hospital for almost a full month in 2020, I already hadn't taken an injection for a couple of weeks (I didn't take one in the hospital either). Maybe it'll be fine.
Again, this is (mostly) not really new. Around the start of the year and Summer is when my insurance starts kicking and screaming about not wanting to cover my expenses until I have to remind them my chronic illnesses don't go away (after being on the phone for an hour or two). It's very inconvenient, but I'm largely used to it.
Other:
I ordered my new RAM and it arrived successfully. I am unsure how I lived with 16GB for so long (it is now 32GB). One of my old HDDs also started to fail, so I replaced it at the same time as my RAM with a drive I had lying around since like 2021 I was too lazy to install. I was a little spooked when after putting everything back together the computer didn't boot, but I think something came loose because after reopening it and trying again, it worked just fine. Next, I'd like to get another large external HDD for backup purposes. I'm 80% sure I accidentally deleted an important folder with ancient esoteric images to make space, so I am slowly feeling the consequences of my actions over time. It's possible they're on another old external I have lying around, but I haven't bothered to find out yet.
My area also received a lot of snow on the 21st. I think this is the most snow I've ever seen at once, so it was very strange to see. It took several days to completely melt which was also bizarre. I had half the mind to make a snowman, but I gave up, not because my stamina is terrible or anything (I was also not properly trained in this action).
???:
I opened a package of hotdogs late at night earlier in the month and there were 9 inside. This was inconvenient because hotdog buns come in packs of 8.
Thank you for the support.
