Beware Bored Gods

Eros had a twisted passion. Many desired to be muse to the god of love, but to a few rare couples the chance was given to enter his service. The couple must be deeply in love, and chaste. Both virgins. They must offer a year of sacrifices, teasing themselves and each other to the very edge of climax, three times a day, without going over a single time, and of course, resisting temptation and saving themselves.

Many tried. Many failed.

The few who managed it were invited to the love feast to end all feasts at Eros's palace. Each would pleasure and be pleasured, their love and discipline on show to all. The erotic atmosphere charged by their desire, and the god. One by one they would succumb, their cries, and ejaculations, spurring on those who remained.

For the couple who lasted the longest was given a precious gift. They were to consummate their love in private in front of the god and, it was rumoured, their offspring would be blessed beyond all in beauty, wisdom, and success.

The winners were driven by the god's urging to the very edge, where the very act of becoming one would cause them both to explode into the most incredible orgasms ever known. With a nod and a smile Eros would finally give them permission.

Except, at that very moment, just as the release was about to erupt, Eros would cast his spell, fire his twisted arrow, and transform the moment of pure desire into a beautiful statue. A testament to love and passion and utter need.

Only Eros knew that it was more than a statue. That the true sacrifice was the beautiful couple, caught forever on that perfect edge of release, overwhelmed, frozen, all consciousness given over to a single pure moment of need. But conscious nonetheless. The eternal ache of satisfaction, so near and yet so far.

Others, of course, thought that each was simply a beautiful recreation of the private moment. That the statues of young couples that littered his palace were the most exquisite workmanship and not the sadistic project of a bored god.

It was said to be good luck if you stroked the multitude of passionate statues in his palace. And many guests did, not knowing that every touch could be felt, endured, and bring the two lovers even closer to what they'd never get.
