Status Report

Hey guys! I’m sorry this report is so late. The truth is that I’m really struggling with the writing at the moment. I don’t know what to say except that I’m sorry it’s taking so long.

I’m working on it full time every day to get it ready for testing and release. The problem has been that what I’ve been producing has felt boring and I fucking hated it. (And myself 😭😭😭) I was really worried that I actually couldn’t pull off another barmaid shift and make it sexy, which is a problem because the story’s not ready for the heroine to make the jump to bargirl yet.

I realised that I was repeating story beats we’ve already had – the initial shock of the job itself (omg I’m topless! omg I’m on camera! etc). Unfortunately the solution to this wasn’t as simple as my original plan (“do it again, but this time in fuck-me boots”). Skinnying down the length was an important step, but it's not the whole solution.

I think the solution I’m working on is quite exciting – what’s sexy about this part of the story isn’t so much what’s externally happening, it’s internally the heroine’s psychology shifting and her boundaries starting to blur as she slips deeper into the role – but writing this has been complicated and it’s taking a few passes to get right. I am making good progress.

I really am sorry it’s taking so long. I’m working on it obsessively and I will have good news to report soon – just wanted to confirm here (and not just on Discord) that I’m alive and working my ass off.

Please take your time and make it so good that you are happy with it, because then everyone else will be too. For my part, I look forward to every update you make and look forward to seeing the development every time and if it takes longer, it doesn't matter because the more the joy is in this great work that you put into it every time.
