2024 Update
Before I get to the next comic announcement, I wanted to document some changes I've made recently.
First, the news updates and comments have been removed from the artofhawke.com website and will only be here on SubscribeStar (free to everyone). The website has had a minor revamp to better position it as the place to go for information about what comics and content I've created and where it can be found.
EE2 has been added to the gumroad store.
The $5 tier has been removed as it wasn't super popular and required splitting up the content into multiple posts. As a result, the next Group Project update will contain both the PDF and JPG files in a single post.
Finally, I have started work on KSB5 as the next comic. This will be a 60+ page Dofantasy exclusive release. The comic has been fully story boarded and focuses on Tyler and Mark taking full advantage of their last day alone with Kayla before Jason returns. I'm not sure how long it will take to complete, but I would guess around 4 months or so. My goal for this chapter was to have as much variety in outfits and short scenes as I could justify in the story, and you can see some of that variety in the outfits below.
The Kayla model has been updated with some improvements to her facial features and textures using an AI model as reference. While I couldn't really match the rendering style of the AI versions, I did make progress on fixing some weirdness in her features and making her face more realistic. In addition, I updated her body shape to get a little closer to the original look of a skinny college student rather than a busty supermodel.
I've also added some new workflows and tools that hopefully will help speed up the creation of panels while maintaining the quality seen in the latest pinups and short comics.
Kayla’s face with AI is stunningly beautiful
Because the facial features are close enough, once the comic is complete I might be able to run AI touchups on every panel to get somewhere between to the two. I'll need to see how much time and effort it ends up taking though.
With you moving back into full comic production will you move back to weekly updates, stay at monthly or maybe hit somewhere in between?
I think the monthly cadence makes more sense, as it was often a struggle to come up with anything to say every week, and with 4-6 pinups coming out every month, I don't want to spam people with too many updates. I also was worried about spoiling the comic too much when a panel was being shown every few pages.
