The heroine your school deserves

Hi everyone, thank you for reading this week's public check-in.
Work proceeds smoothly, with Chapter 5 now into its last leg and only a few scenes left to render while writing and coding is also moving towards a relatively completed state, I'm now getting closer to a release date.
This week, my subscribers have been treated to even more great new previews from Chapter 5, in which we have taken a look at just a few of the terrible things Jess will be doing to Missy. We've also met a sexy new character and found out a little more about Fivaviana.
Next, I'm starting to think about the last part of 0.7 that I have to do before it goes to the testers, the combat overhaul and the next Pussy Pit encounter. A second girl will be joining Nissa in the roster there, again, my supporters have met her, but will be finding out a little more about her in due course!
The purpose of the combat overhaul is to smooth out the gameplay with this particular aspect of the game and hopefully enable more new strategies, but if you'd rather just dispense with combat, 0.7 will also introduce the new "narrative mode" in which you no longer need to do fights at all and can just decide who wins.
In the first round, I'll be splitting grapple into two states - it will still lock out most other skills and debuff the victim's defence, much as it did before, but the poison damage will be moved into a separate state with a 65% chance to be inflicted - Grapple itself will now have a 100% success rate. This reduces the overall RNG in combat and makes being grappled slightly less swingy.
Consequently, I'll probably end up either buffing other abilities or simply lowering the health of most characters. I'd like combat to also be quicker, but also for there to be a skill element to it. It's a hard balance to strike.
In the next step, I'll be doing something with rip bra and panties in the wrestling fights, as guaranteed grapple changes the maths on that considerably. I'm going to experiment with making it cancel out if both combatants grapple in the same round. I'll possibly release a test of this for people to play around with once I have something, so keep an eye on this page!
