Afterlife Harem - v1.0.0 Devlog #1

So... I've been busy.
I'll start with the bad news.... There will be NO AH update this month.
I want to apologize to all my supporters and to those who enjoy playing Afterlife Harem. I really overestimated my abilities, and that led me to come up with some unrealistic dates.
I am one simple Aph, I'm doing my best :D
But one thing is for sure, I am creating something that I would like to play myself, and that is why I am putting a lot of effort into it. So please wait a little longer, it will be worth it.
I will try to communicate more and make more posts about the progress of the 1.0.0 update with you. And please, if you have any suggestions, don't hesitate to leave a comment.
How is the development going?
  • New rooms have been created.
  • Functions and logic behind the combat system are ready.
  • Combat Units logic is ready.
  • New Talk System is ready.
  • New Love Interest has been created. (Her introduction scene has also been scripted).
  • The game is now using a newer version of Renpy (Renpy 8).
What's missing in the update?
  • A scene in which the Combat System will be introduced.
  • A new scene introducing the new cute character.
  • The UI of the Combat System.
  • The UI of the Combat Units (Created but not in the game yet).
  • Lots of interactions with the characters. (The system is ready, but lacks content.)
  • Items, lots of items.
  • Food rework. Food will now provide stats alterations (buffs and de-buffs) to the characters.
Important: It is very likely that v1.0.0 will not be ready for the next month either. But if that is the case, I will create a couple of scenes for my subscribers as a compensation. (2 tier 1 VIP scenes)

I have also been working on 5 new characters, which will play an important role in AH's upcoming chapter.
Just like MC, 4 of the new upcoming characters serve a god. And the 5th character is that god.
*These characters will not be present in v1.0.0, but I wanted to share them with you guys anyway :D

Combat System UI
This is the general view of a combat unit, here you can see the most important information about them. Clicking on certain areas will display different screens; from a screen showing additional information about the unit, to screens used for equipment management.
Accessories will be an important part when building a combat unit. A maximum of two accessories can be equipped.
You can think of Soul Fragments as the units' weapons. This equipment will provide the unit with special abilities and stat boosts.
In addition to gaining experience and leveling up from combat, it will be possible to increase the level of the units by using special items.
New Talk function
When interacting with a character, you will get a random interaction/talk with them. This is to make the game and the interactions a bit more dynamic. As you progress through the story and the route of each character, new interactions will be unlocked.
Combat System
Since most of the progress of the combat system is in the form of code, I will share with you some of my testing.
Note: If you guys wanna know how I am creating these functions or how I'm coding the game in general, feel free to join my discord server and ask me there :D
Experience gain and leveling up.
Shielding and Healing: Amy and Noa will have a special passive skill that will provide buffs when using their shielding and healing abilities.
Passive skills are a very important part of the combat system. Passive skills can be activated at different stages during the combat. This part was extremely difficult and complex to code, it took me a while.
I created a system that allows me to use buffs and de-buffs in the same functions, making my life easier. I ended up calling them stats alterations.
