Those of you who follow me on social media will have seen me dumping image samples with the goal of syncing my work on all of platforms that I'm on. I'm doing this in order to improve my workflow.
Previously, I had a habit of opening a lot of projects and working on them in parallel. This was great in that I would always be able to share an image set every few days on average. It's a crazy workflow that I've managed for over a year and a half.
The downside of this workflow is that it's exhausting and I'm prone to burning out on a project. Which is why I'm trying to clean up my workflow and make it more sustainable and compatible with having a real life job.
My new workflow will centre on the explicit practice of only having one or two projects open at once. This is going to kill me as I have too many ideas that is healthy for someone like me who has the attention span of a rabbit.
However, by focusing on one project at a time, I'll severely impact how many times I'll release new image sets. The reduced rate of posting image sets should be offset by images sets having more to them. (I hope.)
The great thing about posting every few days is that I keep you guys up to date. On the other hand, the bad thing about posting rarely is that you guys will have no idea what I'm doing and will think that I've done a runner.
The obvious solution is to post regular updates here on SubscribeStar - but this in turn creates a problem of losing my visibility on other platforms, and at the same time filling my SubscribeStar profile with noise when I prefer my SubscribeStar platform to be high quality.
So I'm going to experiment with a new workflow where I pick a single project and upload to here when it's done. In the meantime I recommend that everyone follow me on either
XTwitter or
Bluesky where I'll try to spam daily comments/screenshots about what I'm working on.
This way, social media will get all the mess, while SubScribestar will have all the quality. I'm not sure how well my plan will turn out so bear with me while I go through a phase of chaos while trying to make this new workflow a habit.
I do use other sites and I'll be using them in a reduced manner.
For example: DeviantArt has a tendency to delete any of my pictures showing penises, while pixiv is beholden to Japanese law and strictly limits what can be posted there. I'll continue using these platforms but their terms of service are incompatible with my goals.
My objective is to use SubscribeStar as a single stop source of all my content. I'll use social media like X and Bluesky for regular news updates, WIPs, self-promotion and other meaningless stuff.
So I apologise for the next few weeks while I shake myself up with a new workflow.
