Progress Report, Aya Edition Preview, and Poll: Which merch are you most interested in?

Progress Report

Hello.

January is very slow for me. Maybe for everyone. I just have a lot of stress with a few things going on in my life.

Anyway, like I mentioned multiple times, this month is going to be the last ending of Aya Edition only. I know, some of you really want to see what happens with Kate in HMHF, but that's the way it goes.

The update is fairly substantial, so it's going to take me a little while to release it. If I had to guess, I would say around the 23rd of January.

Preview

Still, this time around I won't forget about it. In fact, I will try to do it every month from now on. At least one Preview for the main project. This month, the main project is obviously Aya Edition.

Anyway, it's never anything crazy. Still, any preview is a spoiler, so keep that in mind.

Merch

Now, I already mentioned that I wanted to try selling merchs. For now, I want to mainly small, simple things. See how dealing with shipping and such. Anyway, I ordered a few keychains, stickers and pins. I would like you guys to vote on the ones that you're most interested in and also tell me if you have ideas, suggestion, and worries.

Keychain

The Keychains are the best-looking one, I feel. The size is probably right. I might change it a slightly bit. Maybe an effect on it or something. But for now this is how they look. I tried to see with full sprites, but those were the smallest. There's also the Aya chibi, which I think works great.

Stickers

The stickers definitely need to be bigger and with a more glossy effect on it. Again, I tried the full sprite, but it made the sticker very small. I would need to make all stickers bigger, but full sprite even more. The CG stickers, I don't know.

Pins

I'm not sure about the pins. They don't look great, I feel like. I still want some. It makes for more diversity in the story. But yeah. I put one on my backpack. So if you see a retard with it walking in the snow, then…

Anyway, obviously there's a lot of characters lots of ways to do those merchs. Right now I want something somewhat safe, but I would love to hear suggestions and cues, if you guys have any. I will buy probably a batch of 100 of each of the most popular.

Progress Report

The poll about which update to release this month isn't officially over just yet, but it has been over pretty much since the first day.

I'll be releasing the final update of His Bet, Her Loss this month, as well as a small update for He Maid Her Fall. Next month will be entirely dedicated on the last update of APBLU, and then we'll be down to two projects and He Maid Her Fall will officially become my main project for most of the year.

I don't know if I'll post something this month to explain in more details the two stories I'm currently in the process of writing. All I can say for now is that the His Bet, Her Loss artist will start drawing the sprite for the fantasy project this month.

Anyway, here's for the progress report:

He Maid Her Fall

This update will probably be around 10k words in length, like usual. I pretty have everything I need. I'm starting to work on it today, and so it will probably be released in a week for now. So expect an update around the 12th.

His Bet, Her Loss

I'm currently missing an animation, the voice acting, and an illustration. It would be kind of tragic to receive any of those late. The one that scares me the most is the animation since it happened so often. It's going to be cutting it close, in any case. I already know that the voice acting will be around the 27th. So expect it a bit later than that. Maybe the 28th or 29th.

In any case, it's kind of crazy, knowing that we'll already be done with this project. I started writing it around March, maybe, and 9 months later and it's the end already. I hope you guys have enjoyed this project as much as I did working on it.

Hey, can't believe we're already starting a new month. I didn't really get the chance to take a breather yet. Still, it's not really time for that. I'll try to keep up.

It seems I did not evaluate the amount of work for the last ending of Aya Edition quite properly. I seriously don’t think I'll be able to release it this month. Which is a bit frustrating. But there are just too many CGs. It makes me sad, but I guess we'll have to wait to December for the last ending. I don't think it's worth it. I wrote it, so I thought I might as well do it, but… whatever. I said I would do it, so I'm doing it.

Which means I need to somehow find something again of equal value to release this month.

I can't release a bigger update of His Bet, Her Loss. It would be too tight with the voice acting, and the pacing would be kind of a mess.

So I think what I'm going to do is release a bigger update for He Maid Her Fall.

At first, the goal for this month was:

- 1st week – He Maid Her Fall

- 2nd week – The Edge Of – Definitive Edition

- 3rd week – A Promise Best Left Unkept – Aya Edition

- 4th week – His Bet, Her Loss

But now, it looks more like this:

- 1st or 2nd week – The Edge Of – Definitive Edition

- 3rd week – He Maid Her Fall

- 4th week – His Bet, Her Loss

Here's where I am with each project.

The Edge Of – Definitive Edition

I'm waiting for the voice acting. I worked on it in October since I had the chance. But I feel like there's something missing. I wanted another CG for it, but I might not have the time.

The voice actress told me I would receive the voice lines around the 8th. So depending on if I'm still waiting on a CG or not, I might release it around that time

He Maid Her Fall

I think I have everything for it. I just need to start working on it. The biggest issue is that I was planning for normal size update, so now that I understand I'll have to make it bigger, I just hope the pacing will work well.

I will try my best to release it around the 19th.

His bet, Her Loss

I'm unfortunately really not sure about this one. I don't know if my voice actress will be able to make it for November. That's mainly the problem here. I will have a better idea about whether this one is possible to release this month later this week. But if it does release, it will be late in the month.

I'm a bit annoyed. With Aya Edition the way it is, it messes a bit with my plans. I'm used to work a certain way, and now I need to instead make up for it elsewhere. It will be easier when we start the next year, but for now, please bear with me.

So another month is now upon us, and my never-ending job keeps on going. This year has gone by so fast for me. I just hope it was worth it.

I'll now try to give an approximate for the release this month. Always keep in mind that nothing is guaranteed.

He Maid Her Fall

This will be the first release of the month. I'm working on it at this very moment. I have all the illustrations, but I'm missing one animation. If everything were to go as planned, I would say maybe I could release it around September 10? I'm reluctant to say that it will be done before because I commissioned a new animator for the animation missing. With Aya Edition needing so many animations and with all the projects I'm working on, I need a lot of animations, and my animators are probably what's the slowest in the entire pipeline. I'm just not sure about the quality of his work. Let's hope for the best…

A Promise Best Left Unkept – Aya Edition

The same way I wasn't sure about V0.9.3, I'm not sure of what's going to happen with V0.9.6. I almost missed the deadline because it needs a lot of illustrations/animations. For V0.9.6, I am missing currently 5 illustrations, some animated. So you can see it's going to be tight. I'll keep you informed if I think I can't make it, but I'll try. I paid my artist a bit more last month for his work.

Something I also want to announce, but Aya Edition will release in October on Steam. The game will be missing the "last" ending. But that ending should be considered more of a bonus anyway, and will take two months to release… so I'll add it to Steam when I have it, but I can't wait much longer to make the full release on Steam. Aya Edition pretty much will have everything with the next update. Just thought I would let you guys know.

I will aim for the 25th of September for this release, even though I have no real idea if I can make it.

His Bet, Her Loss

Usually, this release would come out before Aya Edition, but I'm actually not sure. I have yet to receive the Japanese translation for the game. I need the translation to send to the voice actress. I will receive it this week, then I'll send it to the voice actress, and then I will have to wait until she finishes working on it. I might do what I did last month and pay her extra for faster recording. I'm not totally against it because I do think she deserves to be paid fairly, but I need to be mindful of my budget.

As for the game itself, I'm missing one animation, but I'll have it way before I have the voice lines.

It might very well come out in the same week as Aya Edition. I'll aim for the 28th of September for this one.

The Edge Of – Definitive Edition

There won't be any release for it this month. My artist has been sick lately, so he's… slow. Also, I want to reach the first ending with the next update. So I'll probably release the update in October, since I don't think I'll be able to release the last update of Aya Edition on that month.

Hey! I hope you guys are doing fine. Just wanted to make a quick post about what to expect this month. So again, let's go in order of what I think will be the released first.

He Maid Her Fall

A few people already reached out to ask when the next update will release. I'm happy the story is so well liked. I haven't had much of a chance to express my concern about it, but we'll have more then enough time when this become my main project as soon as Aya Edition is completed. For now though, we have small updates with slow progression.

I'm missing one animation for this update. So I expect maybe a week of wait time before the release? I'll be conservative and aim for the 12th, hoping that I can release it early.

His Bet, Her Loss

For this one, I'm waiting for the voice acting, pretty much. I expect it around the 20th for the voice lines. I'll start coding it when I'm done with He Maid Her fall, and so, if everything work out as intended, this release should be around the 22th.

A Promise Best Left Unkept – Aya Edition

This one is hard to tell. The current path is supposed to branch into two different endings. I wanted to show the better one first, since the other one was more of an afterthought and was written for fun. But the better ending needs more CGs, more animations and it's not feasible to have everything done by the end of this month. So I've decided reluctantly to do the second, less demanding ending first, hoping that it will leave me time for the other ending, but… I'm not even sure that will be enough. I need 4 or 5 illustration this month… that my illustrator hasn't worked on yet. This is going to be tight. I assume (stupidly) that I'll be able to make it for this month's ending. But next month… yikes… I don't want to think about it right now.

I'll be aiming for late in the month. I can't give you a date. Could be the 25th, could be the 28th…

The Edge Of – Definitive Edition

There won't be a release for The Edge Of this month. We've added a layer of complexity with voice acting. I just today sent the next part to the Japanese translator to be translated. I also noticed that there's only 21k words left before we reach the first ending from Sam's perspective. So I think it will simply be a better decision to release a bigger update even if it takes a bit more time. I'll try for September still. Not sure yet.

All in all, I'm trying my best to keep up with all of this work, but it's obviously not sustainable. The fact that APBLU will soon be completed is kind of what keeps me going, really. I think it should be much more manageable with one project less.

In any case, I'm really grateful that you guys keep on supporting me. And I'll try my best to make it worth your while, as always.

Progress Report (His Bet, Her Loss V0.2 Delayed)

Hey, guys. I tried my best this month to try and release an update for all four of my projects, but I came out a bit short. It's not that I don't have the next build for His Bet, Her Loss. In fact, I have it right now. It's just that I waited for too long for feedback about the Japanese translation. I didn't want to make the same mistake as other times and hire a translator who's not talented enough. The worst part is that I'm still not fully sure. In any case, right now, I'm waiting for the voice lines from the voice actress. I paid her a bit more for a quicker turnaround, but it will probably still stretch to later next month (hopefully the first week).

I won't make the same mistake. In fact, I have the Japanese translation for the next part already, so I'll just send it to her as soon as she sends me the line for this version.

Anyway, let's talk about each individual project.

He Maid Her Fall

I'll reiterate what I said in the rating thread, but the next update won't be as crazy as the last one. I was toying with the idea of skipping this month and releasing a bigger update next month, but it probably isn't worth it. I have more incentive to just release updates every month, if possible. So I'll probably do just that. I'm still missing a CG for this update, and I've had… my hands fuller this month, so I haven't had the chance to start working on it just yet. So the release will probably be in the second week of June, if I had to guess. Not sure yet, but if we assume His Bet, Her Loss is in the first week, that would be better.

A Promise Best Left Unkept – Aya Edition

We're done with the first ending, which means we're backtracking a bit to start the second one. This one will be longer than the first one. It's the longest ending out of the four. Well, this ending will branch out into two actually (out of the four), so it's not really accurate. Anyway! Endings take a lot of CGs and lots of animations. The first update might be a tinge smaller than usual (17k – 18k words instead of 20k words), but just know that it's mainly to make sure I'm pacing myself properly. I'm probably the first one here who wants to finish this as soon as possible, so I would rather not do that, but I don't want to end up in a situation where I have to take another break.

So yeah, I'll try to go as fast as I can. If it works out right, I think these two endings could be reached in four months? Five, maybe? We'll see.

As usual, I aim for the fourth week for APBLU – Aya Edition. Want to give me as much time as possible.

The Edge Of – Definitive Edition

I'm really not sure about releasing another version this month. I've worked a lot this month, and for a lazy cat like me… that's not very healthy. We'll see.

If I release anything though… would probably be in the third week of the month.

His Bet, Her Loss

I already mentioned it at the beginning, so won't be explaining further. There probably won't be two releases this month. I'm just a manly cat after all. But if I keep up this pace, maybe it will become the first release of each month from now on. I don't want to promise anything. I want to release updates as often as possible, but I also need to not work all day every day.
