Last but not least for the main cast of The Weight of Scales webcomic:

Alexander Grey!
This older gentleman has been helping hide magical creatures and mages from the eyes of The Order of Magic for years. The limits of his magic abilities are unknown, but his incredible power is likely linked to the pact he has with Aether, the god of Magic. Due to his skills he has been dubbed as an "Archmage".

The full terms of their agreement are a secret~ All that is known about it is that Grey must visit Aether at least once a year.

He is reclusive towards most people, but is kind and caring to those he have vowed to protect.
Grey is not unlike a weird uncle that can't talk about his job, but says he has connections in lots of places if you ever need anything.

His dog-like familiar is Nox. A silky furred canine whose body can become smoke.
Nox can meld with shadows to travel anywhere and can even enter the minds of unconscious people. His voice can only be heard by people who have attuned themselves to magic.

More Order of Magic folks from The Weight of Scales webcomic.

We have Dr. Nick Dirge, the head of research and development.
He is in charge of developing magical artifacts and weaponry for the field agents.
Nick is a peculiar man who acts friendly most of the time. 
Though once he gets deep in his work process, he tends to show a colder and more obsessive nature. He has gone so far as to use himself as a test subject in pursuit of results.
Nick is also acting mentor for Agent Eli Arciel. The two of them have a mutual agreement to help each other whenever the need arises.

Next there is Ms. Rovina Dace. She is the head of "Human Resources". 
Its her job to locate and negotiate for the recruitment (or capture) of various magical creatures and unregistered magic users. Rovina can assign agents teams and send them on missions
She is a woman that values loyalty and merit in her subordinates. Agent Reed Ulfsire, the werewolf, is currently one of her top agents. Reed also acts as an assistant for her when not out in the field. She has taken on the role of mentor for Reed since the disappearance of his previous mentor.

Here is another agent of The Order of Magic, Reed!

This himbo werewolf serves as the extra muscle for other agents during missions. He has very little magic aptitude, but he makes up for that with his raw strength and endurance.

His scars are testament of his dedication to complete his duties and protect the mages of The Order.

Reed is always eager to please and does his best to make friends wherever he goes. In truth, he hates having to hurt people at all, but he believes his work with The Order is for the greater good.

He will show up alongside Eli in her mission to investigate a large magical disturbance that has similar energy readings to magic used by someone The Order of Magic wants to find.

Next up in The Weight of Scales line-up is Eli the vampire! 

You can use any pronouns really, but they prefer to present as feminine most of the time so I tend to use she/her by default.

As a Vampire, she can change form/appearance to suit the needs of a mission or to suit her fancy at any given time. The only thing she can't change is her height.

Her abilities are especially useful when she does spy-work for The Order of Magic.
She also has a creature familiar by the name Volsar.

Volsar was created by accident during a coming-of-age ceremony held by the Arciel clan.
Its loyal only to Eli. It is physically strong and agile, but it takes a lot of mana for Eli to summon it, so she only uses it when absolutely necessary.

Other than a teaser at the end of chapter 2 these two won't show up until around chapter 4 or 5 in a more regular capacity.

If we go in order of appearance for the characters in The Weight of Scales:

We have Drake, a dragon turned human by Aether and then sent to earth. He eventually learns how to shift into his dragon form thanks to the help of an Archmage.

Then we have Iris, the young woman who discovers the human Drake in a park. She had no idea how much her world would change that day.

I'd say these two are the main focus of the plot for a long time, but that doesn't mean the other characters can't also have time in the spotlight. 

There is plenty of inter-character drama to be had in The Weight of Scales webcomic.

I'll Start with the webcomic characters from The Weight of Scales.

First up is Aether!
They are the god of Magic. Their purpose and origin is unknown, but they are the source of magic for multiple worlds.
They preside over the creation of other magical beings and maintaining the mana-cycle for each world they are connected to.
