SideStory - Development Update


This week, I didn’t manage to get as many renders done as I’d hoped, but I’m getting very close to finishing up the remaining ones for Amber’s story. The side story is coming together well, and with just a few more scenes left to complete, I’m aiming to have it fully wrapped up soon.
Right now, I’m estimating a release around the second week of November, assuming all goes as planned.

Episode 4 - Development Update & Preview

Hello everyone,
Last week, I mentioned that I had 50 renders left to complete. I'm happy to report that I finished those renders this week, along with all the scenes where the outfits needed to be changed and the faulty renders that needed fixing. In short, all the render work is now complete.
This week, I’m focusing solely on rendering animations and queuing up the new and revised renders. We have a total of 12 animations, and I’ve already completed half of them. I’ll be working to finish the remaining animations by the weekend. Additionally, over the next few days, I’ll be queuing up all the new and corrected renders for rendering, which includes about 140 scenes in total.
Starting from Sunday, I’ll begin code reviews and making the final adjustments. This includes adding music, sound effects, transitions, and other finishing touches. After a few final checks, the game will be ready to go.
If everything goes according to plan and no major issues arise, I’m aiming to release the beta version on September 8th. The beta will run for about a week, during which I plan to add a few extra animations and fix any render errors that might appear. If everything goes smoothly, the full version will be released on September 15th.
This will be the final report for this episode, as the next few days will be spent waiting for the renders to complete. I will share updates if any significant developments occur, but for now, I’ll mainly be posting previews in the coming days.

Episode 4 - Development Update

Hello everyone,
Since the beginning of the week, I’ve been working on finalizing Kiara’s (Mitchell's wife) facial features and hairstyle. I experimented with five different faces and four different hairstyles. Initially, I considered doing a poll, but after testing all the faces in the scene, I realized that most of them didn’t work as well as I had hoped. Only one stood out, so I decided to go with it.
Similarly, with the hairstyles, I had to narrow down the options. Two of the styles used gravity simulations, which could slow down the rendering process in future scenes, so I eliminated them. Choosing between the remaining two was tough, but I ultimately decided to go with the longer style that I felt suited her best.
Since Saturday, I’ve been working on the scenes involving Kiara. These are the final renders for the game, and I have about 50 renders left to complete. I’m aiming to finish them by the end of next week. If I finish early, I’ll take some time to fix any render errors and hope to have the entire game wrapped up by Sunday. After that, there will be a brief testing phase, which could last a few days or slightly longer, before the beta version is ready.
