Happy August, everyone! This month’s update is going out a few days early due to the update launch, which I’m very excited about. Let’s get into it!
Monstrous Liberation Work
By the time this update goes out, the first major content update for
Monstrous Liberation should be available on
Steam and
Itch! This update is BIG - the amount of content in here has essentially doubled, making now a great time to pick it up if you haven’t already!
Here’s the full changelog:
- Players can now explore the Garrison District of Civitas Imperito
- New Character: Regla Shatterskull, indomitable orc warmistress
- New Character: Shrill, passionate harpy watch officer
- New Character: Willowswitch, elven blacksmith with a big secret
-
50,000 words added to script, bringing total wordcount above 110,000
-
6 new full-length sex scenes to enjoy
-
Even more mini-scenes at the Hideout starring the new arrivals to the cast
- All fantasy world backgrounds are now hand-drawn
-
Gallery has been updated. Players can now choose between watching full scenes or only viewing that scene’s art
- Over a dozen new music tracks
- Various small text & art fixes
I hope you enjoy this update - it was a ton of work getting everything together on time, but I think you’ll be very pleased by all the new content. If you DO wind up enjoying yourself, please leave us a positive review if you haven’t already - it really helps us out!
Regarding The Itch Deindexing Situation
In case you hadn’t heard, all adult content on Itch has been deindexed following pressure from their payment processors, meaning that although the store pages for said content are still up, they do not appear in the platform’s search or tags. Some titles have also been banned outright - primarily those that feature incest, non-consensual sex acts, or sexualized gore. So far none of BP Games’ projects have been banned, but the pages for Monstrous Liberation, Opportunity: A Sugar Baby Story, Tits Detective, and all three issues of the Adult Analysis Anthology are deindexed.
For the record I’m not in any way mad at Itch for this decision. The platform’s staff stuck their neck out in a real way to support adult content that most other storefronts wouldn’t touch for years, and even now they’re exploring other payment solutions in order to be able to support the widest breadth of content possible. The responsibility for this lies solely at the feet of their conservative payment processors, who used pressure from an Australian far-right hate group as an excuse to tighten the Puritan thumbscrews. If you’d like to help fight back against the smothering of free speech, for the past two weeks there’s been a mass calling/mailing campaign to pressure Mastercard, Visa, Paypal, and Stripe into changing their vague, regressive policies, and it’s been showing some real progress! For more information, including up-to-date information about what numbers to call, scripts and tactics to use, and all relevant news items, you can check out
this site and also
this site!
Itch WAS able to reindex adult content that doesn’t accept payments, so I went through and touched up our
three free demos. Better than nothing!
From The Blog
A slower month on the blog - I had been intending to publish my full Subverse review (combining the full text of my first review from AAA2 and my updated review from AAA3), but given the present state of things, publishing literally ten thousand mostly-mean words about a popular porn game just didn’t seem like the play. Thus, the AAA web versions are going to be a little bit out-of-order. Here’s what DID go up this month:
The Consumption Stumption
I’ll level with you: with how apocalyptically busy I’ve been trying to finish everything with the update before launch, I honestly haven’t had that much TIME to enjoy much in the way of new media. I’ve… been watching through my giant
Columbo box set? That little guy sure can solve a mystery! I also re-read Haruko Ichikawa’s
Land of the Lustrous recently - very funny series in how it starts with a kind of “for fans of
Steven Universe!” vibe and ends with much more of a “for fans of
Those Who Walk Away From Omelas!” vibe. Oh, the new season of
My Dress-Up Darling has been airing, that’s been pretty great. They’re really leaving it all on the court budget-wise with the animation, and they even got Capsule for the
end credits music! That’s nice.
Wrapping Up
As you might be able to tell, between the massive amount of work I had to do to get the MonLib update ready for launch and All That Other Stuff, I’m pretty fried after the last month. Both Pacha and I will be taking a couple of weeks off to recharge after the launch, so next month’s update will likely be a little light on concrete progress. Don’t forget to check out the new update on
Steam and
Itch, and thank you so much for following BP Games and enjoying the things we create!
