Following the death of his grandmother, Edward Bantam has inherited a rather charming detached house in an idyllic countryside location. He's making plans to move in along with his two adult children Heather and Albert, as well as his new fiance Patricia Petty and her 21-year-old daughter Penelope.

What nobody realizes is that the garden is also home to a small clan of fairy-like creatures, who until now have maintained a peaceful truce with the human residents of Bantam House. When Patricia announces her intention to uproot the very tree which they call home, however, the mischievous sprites decide that they need to teach her some respect!
