I'm probably going to make a few tiny little adjustments once I notice them and maybe write up a little more commentary about her and this project, but I just wanted to post this now before heading out to work again.
Update! So I was really hoping that I was going to be able to get this done back on Wednesday, but Animate was giving me a few issues and warnings about corrupted assets, so I had to do things a little weird to avoid the whole project file from going bad. Copying everything over to a new project file didn't help either. It kinda killed a good amount of momentum, but I should have the shading and a few more background details done pretty soon!
Also, I think the last panel is decently better than the last one. So I'm pretty happy I went back and redid it, even if the background wound up being lazily done.
(Typed this really fast before work, so apologies for any grammar errors or if it's hard to follow.)
So I've been try to improve on my productivity a little bit more recently by trying to give myself more of an actual deadline for projects again. So I started working on another random comic page since the one involving Jake and Jesse isn't quite working out like I had hoped. A big struggle I've been having is really nailing down each individual facial expression and pose for a comic that makes me feel confident in the end result. And since there's usually just so much more work involved, I usually wind up getting a bit overwhelmed and burning myself out a little in the process.
Nevertheless, I do want to persevere and finally make comics more of a main stay of my work! I just have to get out of my comfort zone it be willing to struggle with it for a bit until I can make a few more breakthroughs. So with that, this is the latest comic I'm hoping to get done! There's a lot more work I aim to do, and a few more panels I'm probably going to add in to make this make a little more sense about what's going on. I feel that it's more implied that she was never wearing a skirt instead of the fact that the skirt that she was wearing actually just fell off, and was so light that she couldn't tell the difference.
I'm hoping to get more work done on it once I'm finally freed up from my job soon. So stay tuned to see if I can make this comic idea a little bit better!
Okay! Managed to get a drawing done for my "newest" character, Ashley Goodlittle!
Still not 100% sure how well the idea is going to be received overall, but it's nice knowing that I won't feel strangely obligated to justify why Brandy Harrington is in this oddly specific situation and being so far removed from anything related to the show she's from. Even if they do look fairly different when you consider what Brandy actually looked like from the show and the differences in art styles, I'm of course not going to deny that Ashley here is still a bit of a ripoff. Hopefully all this doesn't take too much away from what people enjoyed about the character.
In other ramblings. playing around with slightly more varied line widths seemed to help with making these a little more visually interesting. I feel that there's somewhat of an order of operations to it, with wider lines being used to prioritize the more essential features and the thinner lines being used to apply more detail where it's needed. I still need to practice with it a little more, but I think it'll be a lot to help make things look better while not having it take too much extra time.
Anyways, thanks once again for reading and all the support!
Was working on some other drawings when I saw this game making the rounds on YouTube and thought they just couldn't be any more diaperable! So I hastily drew a mach-up of what that might look like since I don't know how to mod or 3D model stuff.
So this has been a thing I've been thinking about for quite some time, and figured it'd be worth at least bringing up for discussion to get some extra thoughts on it.
As I'm sure you're aware, Leggy and Brandy have been two fairly obscure characters I've been drawing for quite a while now. Over time, I've started to worry that my versions of them are such a departure from their source material that it's just becomes a bit too far out of left field even for us in this particular niche with the scenarios I draw them in.
So, I've been thinking about perhaps just making a few more changes to their designs to maybe allow for a little more creative freedom. The big thing would be that this would help me feel a little less weird about possibly having them interacting with some of my other OCs in the future, as well as not feel so worried about possibly drawing in any unwanted attention from those outside of this space that also like these characters.
I know it's probably just me in one of my overthinking spells, but I think this'll probably be better in the long run.
However-- this isn't set in stone yet! So if you have any thoughts on the new designs, please let me know! I'm open to more-critical feedback if you either disagree or have any concerns with this idea as a whole.
Anyways, hopefully this all makes sense and doesn't confuse anyone moving forward. I'll probably make a more official announcement once I feel confident enough in their new designs!
