I'll continue to make updates on Twitter for the time being, but I'm really uncomfortable with some of the changes they're trying to make to their Terms of Service.

I feel like since their harmful changes break several laws in multiple countries, there is a chance that they might not go through, but Elon has definitely shown himself as enough of an unstable egomaniac that I don't feel safe having only Twitter as my main way of getting announcements out anymore.

The first of these changes is to how "Blocking" users would work on Twitter. Elon is trying to change this so that you can still be forced to see posts from users that you've blocked, and that users that you've blocked can still see your posts. This means that known minors would still be able to access content from 18+ creators who have blocked them, and that stalkers can easily access their victims and have much easier paths to harrassment.

The second is that they are trying to remove the "opt-out" for having all of your content be fed into Gen AI models. I do not consent to my voice or my work being taken and used for AI. I care a lot about the kinds of things that I say, and I'm not okay with the possibility of my voice being taken to potentially deliver messages that I don't agree with. Twitter has clearly demonstrated a history of promoting harmful and insane alt-right messages and ideology in the name of "free speech" while censoring valid criticisms and complaints about those things. Again, I'll continue to provide updates there, but it's becoming an increasingly unsafe platform. Even if you continue to use Twitter, I strongly recommend you guys make your voices heard by at least making an account over at BlueSky and joining me there :)
