Hi everyone! Credits and Steam Keys are largely complete, but there are some problems that need to be addressed for some of you, so please read on!

This will be the last update on these topics until Act 1 is released!

Patreon did this cool new thing where they removed the email addresses of former patrons so we can't look them up. (Actually it's not cool and makes things very inconvenient.) This causes problems for Credits and Steam Keys if the email is missing, because we aren't able to cross-reference your past pledges. If you've dropped your pledge, please become a FREE MEMBER so we can keep your email address on file!

We didn't know we needed to enable "Request subscribers to share E-mails", so some of the Substars are missing email addresses needed to match up donor contributions for Credits and Steam Keys. We did our best to match things up based on nickname, but this is not entirely reliable since different people can have the same nickname. You can ensure you're sharing your email address with us by going into Account Settings and selecting "Specify which Creators can see your email address". Sorry for the trouble and please let us know if you need any help!

Use the find/search function to look up your name (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F). When searching, please remember to check for aliases and alternate names as well! It is possible you may be credited under an old name. We also listed some non-credits and other info there for reference.

If your name is missing or listed lower than usual, either we don't have your email address on file (see "email problems" above), or you did not fill out the form with the proper email and "Name to be credited as". Please address these issues quickly to ensure you get in the credits for Act 1!

Note: We originally planned to include these credits in v0.24, but due to the number of missing emails, we decided to wait and add everything in v1.00 (Act 1 release).

If you want to replace an old name, fill out the Credits & Perks form again using your new name in the "Name to be credited as" field, and specify the old name you are replacing in the Comments at the bottom.

You are excluded from the credits by default. You will not be added automatically. You will only be in the credits if you fill out the "Name to be credited as" field on the Credits & Perks form, because that's the only info we use for the credits. If you leave it blank, you will not be credited... unless you were credited previously, in which case leaving it blank will keep your credit the same as it was before.

If you are currently in the credits but no longer wish to be credited, fill out the form, click the "Remove me from the credits" checkbox in the Special Actions section, and specify the credited name you are removing in the Comments at the bottom.

Please update this info by May 19th, 2025. We will update the game credits immediately after that, since there are a lot of missing emails and want to get as many legitimate entries into the game as we can before the release of Act 1!

Note: Due to the email problems, we have extended the cutoff of the $10 minimum for Act 1 by one week to May 19th!

All Steam keys have been sent already!

Check everywhere in your email: spam, junk, promotional tab, etc. - This arrived from Keymailer, so your email provider may consider it bulk mail that it hides away.

First, make sure we have your email address on file for SubscribeStar (see "email problems" above).

Second, send us a direct message here on SubscribeStar! Let us know in the DM that you are missing your Steam Key.

Our timing is tight, but we will try to send them by May 22nd, one day before launch.

One of our patrons from Germany said they were able to redeem their Steam key but not access the store page. They cannot play the game yet, as it's not officially released until 5/23/25, but we'll know more for sure after launch. We can't say if this will be the same for you. We are based in the United States and don't have international Steam accounts. We are allowing you to give your Steam key to a friend or sell it if you wish. We don't know the laws around this, so please check with others in your country to determine the appropriate course of action.

Localization is in the works and the technical parts of the process are largely complete, but I still need to convert a ton of text from being hard-coded in the game into something I can pull from a spreadsheet. Then I will need to start contacting people to help with the actual text translation. Because I still have to do this on top of all the other work left to do, we will only be launching Act 1 (v1.00) in English. However, it will be one of my top priorities to finish localization and translate the game into multiple languages in a free post-launch update (possibly v1.01 or v1.02).

Yes, after post-launch fixes are complete and the roadmap for future acts is laid out, we will release a free demo based on Act 1 that will go from Sheo Islands Beach to Brask's Palace. It is just enough content to communicate the style and gameplay of Oh So Hero! to new players! It will be available for PC/Mac/Linux/Android on Steam and itch just like the full game of Act 1.

All these do is provide permanent residency in the Discord server for former patrons who have exceeded a lifetime pledge amount threshold. If you're an active patron, you already have access to the Discord server and do not need a special Discord role.

Hello and welcome to the credits of Oh So Hero!  ❤️🐸

We recently updated our Credits Google Form to handle multiple Lifetime Pledge Perks (in-game Credits and Discord roles), and to better serve our SubscribeStar subscribers.

Currently, you need a minimum lifetime pledge amount of $10 to get in the Credits of Oh So Hero! Act 1. Since we are close to release, this will end on May 12, 2025 (end of day CT).

Afterwards, the minimum lifetime pledge amount will be $20 to get in the Credits of Oh So Hero! Act 2. (All Act 1 credits will be included automatically.)

Subscribers are now eligible for inclusion in the credits of Oh So Hero!

If your lifetime pledge amount is $10 or more, you have the option to get into the game's credits~ For example, if you've subscribed here on SubscribeStar at the $5 level for two months, you're all set to join in. Just make sure to submit the form!

If you're also on Patreon and use the same email address for Patreon and SubscribeStar, your lifetime pledge amounts will be added together! The higher your lifetime pledge amount, the higher your name will be in the credits! The credits will be updated for each major release of the game, so keep pledging each month to get higher up on the list! 

Once you're in the credits, you will stay in the credits. This is a lifetime reward that will remain intact even if you drop your pledge and stop donating. However, because SubscribeStar only provides information on active subscriptions, some names may initially be omitted or have delayed totals if we collect data while those subscribers are cancelled.

If you don't see your name in the credits, it could be because you used an email other than your SubscribeStar email address, or you submitted your entry close to when a build was being made, or perhaps we just messed up. In any case, you may contact us to ensure you are credited properly!
