Men's Mental Health Awareness Month

I may lose a couple people for this one but I have to be truthful:
it bothers me greatly that June is recognized first as Pride month and second as Men's Mental Health Month (if it's recognized at all)

By no means am I saying that underrepresented groups don't deserve some recognition. By no means am I saying that people in the LGBTQ++++++++ Community (I honestly don't know what letters there are anymore, it seems to change more often than bitcoin) don't deserve respect and the right to live how they want to live.

What I am saying that instead of slapping the corporatized, highly-profitable rainbow flag on everything for an entire month to pretend to be in solidarity with a group which makes up less than 10% of the population just to avoid armchair twitter activists from complaining, maybe we should be giving a bit more attention to the half the population that is openly demonized and has frighteningly few resources to turn to when in need of help. Pride month and the Woke discourse that surrounds it is spearheaded by the same people who spread anti-male hate, so I guess it only makes sense that the month would be hijacked...

"Can't have all those evil, icky men actually being understood and listened to for an entire month. No, no no! Then they might start to be seen as people worthy of love and respect, and we can't have that! That goes against the whole 'fuck the patriarchy' narrative that keeps the sexes divided. And fuck only knows what would happen if men get actually start to believe that they're worthy of love and respect! We can't have them thinking they're anything more than disposable, replaceable resources! Quick! get James Cameron to say that testosterone is poison!"

I think it's pretty fucked up how the month went from bringing attention to the suffering that almost half the population faces, to recognizing gay/lesbian relationships as worthy of respecting (which is honestly a completely understandable thing to strive for), to what now seems to be mainly celebrating and encouraging a legitimate, documented mental illness of that only 0.5% of the population has. Call me weird, but I don't think we should be celebrating mental illness as something trendy.

In media today, men are portrayed 1 of 3 ways: bumbling idiot, whimpering simp, or stalking predator. Our classic, iconic, testosterone film/TV heroes are being sacrificed on the altar of Woke, being torn down and humiliated by the new, young girlboss who does everything the original can do but better. Boys can never be seen as in charge, they can't ever solve the problem, and no more damsels in distress. Now the boys have to be saved by the girls.

What a disgusting thing to teach a generation of young kids, huh? That girls can never fail and boys will do nothing but fail. That all men are evil and women are  always guiltless. What a healthy message to deliver to kids...

Divorce courts are basically abattoirs for men. Women initiate divorce 80% of the time (the number rises as dating apps continue to destroy relationships) and even in no-fault divorce women retain custody of the children regardless of their quality as the parent. Men accused of domestic violence or sexual assault are guilty until proven innocent, and even if they are found innocent, the damage that leaves on a man's life is permanent and often impossible to overcome.

The gender wage gap has been debunked thousands of times, yet people still cling to it as if it is some undeniable fact. Men are more likely to suffer sever/permanent/fatal injury on the job. Men work outdoors and in horrible conditions with terrible hours. Men serve prison sentences 3 times longer than women who commit the same crime. Men are more likely to be victims of violent crime, murder, and police brutality. It's evident that 99.9999999% of people who suffer in war, die in war, and carry the scars of the hell that is war with them once they return home, are men. PTSD is not a joke, and the scars that war can leave on the psyche often cannot be healed, yet we live in a world where young privileged women will look a man in the eye and say, with a straight face, that women are the biggest victims of war.

There's only so much biting of one's tongue that a man can do...

Good men suffer day in and day out doing everything they can to maintain their morality while supporting their families. Good men continue to take their own lives because the burden of keeping up the brave face while trying to shoulder the weight of the pain is too much, and because they feel that they have no one to turn to.

Right now, today, when asked, "how many close friends can you go to in an emergency no matter how severe the emergency?" the overwhelming majority of men said '0'. Men suffer, and what's worse, they do it in isolation.

Take it from someone who continues to battle those demons in his own isolated corners... that is the most horrible kind of pain to feel.

I don't say any of this to shit on Pride month.

The reason I posted this at the end of June was to represent how Men's Mental Health Awareness is often seen as an afterthought despite affecting more people than people realize in more ways than they can comprehend. Men's Mental Health is not important in the eyes of the government, it's twisted and warped by academia, and it's ignored by our media.

I get passionate about this because as a man who has suffered with my own mental health issues (and as a man who is terrified of what my young male relatives face as they grow up in a world that now actively hates and demonizes them) it's really disgusting to see how much attention is given to a 'political ideology' which has been so disgustingly corporatized and blatantly soulless that it's practically Orwellian. It takes the attention away from where I believe it's more needed needed.

And of course, being an ABDL and an Ageplayer makes all of this even more fraught with weirdness. The men in our community have this strange way of dealing with stress and coping with the world, and I for one and thankful that I have this part of myself to help me through my own garbage. It has, admittedly, given me much stress at times, some times more stress than benefits, but it's where I go when I need to find peace and I'm glad it's something like diapers and bottles instead of crack cocaine and loads of raw-dog sex.

Growing up as a male who is into diapers and baby stuff is so trying and isolating, because vulnerability and innocence goes against what we are taught as boys. Wanting to stay in a state of weakness or vulnerability as a way of healing or feeling secure is a strange and unnatural thing for males to want. So being born with a dick and wanting to keep that dick wrapped up in diapers... it does nothing to help prevent mental illness. ABDL has caused me some really bad and dark moments, but it has also saved me from other dark moments when necessary. It's my/our way of dealing with the pain of life, and for some reason it is seen as something terrible or perverted or wrong to want to hug a teddy bear and feel small for a little while.

I haven't done official age regression therapy yet, but my age regression play is therapeutic. There's a difference. Either way, having a Littlespace is such a rare and wonderful thing and it is sadly misconstrued by popular culture as a result of mental illness rather than a coping mechanism for it. I hope for the day when there will be a major film made about Ageplay where it is all presented in a respectful and thoughtful way and actually be a good film. It would go a ways to helping closeted ABDLs feel better about themselves to have a positive representation of what this little world is.

This world loses too many good men who were just beaten down too far and for too long by the world around them.
