We are off to the races! So this is all very new to me, and there are a fair number of unknowns and kinks (hehe) to work out as I go... The structuring and formatting of this is likely to change as I figure out what works, with regards to tiers, updates, projects - basically everything.
...And on that note, I will be very willing to adjust and pivot how all of this is set up depending on all your thoughts and feedback.
But let me at least try to articulate what my intentions are getting into this...
I've FINALLY come to a place in my life where I have the time and will to write, and to write lots. In fact, I've made the, possibly insane, choice to write full time. Now, the lion's share of that time is still being used to write for 'mainstream' publication - grimdark high fantasy (because I adore it), and spicey romantasy (because I know where the money is) - but I have always wanted to come back to writing SHiP erotica as well... So, I've decided to set aside some time for it until I have at least written the next two Pariah books and one book for a new heroine I was itching to get to before I took my break. I think I also want to finish the Aurelia story and the Supergirl (even if I may have to change her name) story as well.
I am resolved to doing all that, no matter what. For the sense of completing what I started over a decade ago, for my own love of writing this genre and finally getting to scratch that itch after so many years away from it, and for the people who have followed along and prompted me now and again to come back to these stories. So, however this goes here on subscribestar, I am locked into completing those projects and releasing them.
The reason I am here is twofold.
The first is to give a greater chance that my time spent writing this material isn't totally worthless compared to the time it takes away from writing 'mainsteam' material. Once, I could write purely as a hobbyist with a passion for the genre, but I'm no longer in a place in my life where I can do that - the time I spend on this is being taken from time where I earn money. With my family commitments, I have literally no other time I can partition. That stark reality is precisely why I vanished from the scene for so long. So yes, it's mercantile, maybe even cynical, but making this page has helped me justify to myself the time loss to come back and write these projects again - and to do so seriously, where before it was a way to pass the time. Now, it might of course be a placebo, because this page may go absolutely nowhere, but damnit I'll still take a placebo if it gets me to commit to these projects!
The second reason concerns the future. I would love to write much, much more than I have listed off. I have a document of SHiP story ideas, heroines, villains, and perils that goes on for pages. But I need more than a placebo to go there. So, my hope is that, by the time I have finished the SHiP projects I am committed to here, there is enough signs of life on this page - or from the book releases - for me to justify continuing on into all the other stuff I would love to write. My hope is to build something here - it doesn't have to be much - that makes the choice for me to continue writing more books an easier one to make.
So, looking forwards. Things are going to happen very fast from here - absolute lightspeed compared to my production speed in the past. I want the fourth Pariah book written in full by the end of April, and I have my eye on warming up one or possibly even two other books in that time as well. For March and April my target is to write roughly 10K a WEEK on these books to jumpstart all this. After April I will calm down and instead be writing 10K-20K a MONTH, and then we will see where we end up. I will go like this until around October or November, and that is when I will take stock of how this is going and whether it is viable to continue - and at what rate it ought to continue if so. There is even a world where this goes so well that I increase the time I allocate to this and write significantly more - it really all depends.
What all this means for you guys is that, no matter what, the book releases I mentioned are definitely coming. I will probably post up portions of them, either samples or maybe the first third of them, for free both here and the story section of the superheroine forum. If I continue the Aurelia and Supergirl stories, I will probably post them up in their entirety for free, here and again in the superheroine forum. To read the full completed Azureverse books, they will be available on Amazon and Smashwords.
But, if you want to read these stories as they are written, as soon as they are updated, and to give me feedback that could affect how the story progresses - or just to encourage/support me to keep going - and gain easy access to everything I have written before, then that is what you gain by joining me on this journey here. My hope is that a minimum of 10k words of my SHiP content is worth the five bucks a month - but times are TOUGH, and all this content will eventually be available elsewhere, so I very much understand if this is too steep an ask.
Either way, thanks for reading!
