So, what do I owe you?

Nothing! It's for free!

Oh my god another AI slop fest, just commission some artists/models!

You're completely right, and I'll be the first to shit on AI with you all the way to the bottom.

AI is not and will never be art - the usage of AI on this project is purely a means to an end.

As much as I'd love to commission artists and/or models to provide me with art/photos - a game like this requires a lot of content even just for conceptualization, and I just don't have that kind of money to fuel the process that way.

That said, I'll try to provide the best quality content I can make with the newest generative models available.

So what exactly do you use AI for?

Only assets like backgrounds and characters. As for everything else - writing, coding, editing - it's all me, myself and I.

There's no fun in taking shortcuts - the coolest thing about making a project like this is having an idea, and then brainstorming ways to implement it in a way that would be cool to interact with :D

Those AI images are so inconsistent between the scenes!

Having consistent faces between artificially generated images (especially when it comes to realistic depictions) is quite hard to achieve.

I'm currently experimenting with various techniques to end up with some level of consistency (LoRAs, training my own models, ControlNet & others).

However, I'm currently more focused on just expanding the game, coding new features and deepening the experience - switching the images in an already existing scene later is much more time-effective than doing all the perfect AI generation first, and then going for the dev part.

So, TL;DR - we're getting there!

Why won't you use real porn clips/images?

I agree wholeheartedly that it would be great, I love games that use real porn.

Do you know what I don't exactly enjoy? Copyright Infringement lawsuits.

Using copyrighted work, even in a free game like this, still requires a go-ahead from the rightful copyright owners.

I did my due dilligence though, before you start asking - I reached out to every single porn and erotica company/studio I could think of, requesting a permission to use some of ther material in my project.

95% of them did not even reply back, and as for the ones that did - if I had that kind of money they asked for licensing, I probably wouldn't need to work for the rest of my life :D

In conclusion, is what it is - although I'd really like to use real porn in here, all it takes is some bored moneyman having a bad day to ruin the whole project. That, plus Patreon and SubStar really do not like copyright infringement on their platforms.

How do you make this game?

The game is free, why do you have crowdfunding platforms?

Both my Patreon and SubscribeStar exist purely for one reason - if you want to support my current project, as well as any other ones what I'll develop in the future.

Let me be very clear on this - you don't owe me anything. If you just want to play the game, there is not, nor ever will be any in-game content locked behind a paywall.

Why do you have both Patreon and SubscribeStar?

I've created accounts on both platforms purely for the player to have a choice - if you prefer one platform more than the other, you can use it.

What is the difference in content between those two?

None. Both Patreon and SubscribeStar have identical posts, dev logs, announcements and everything else.

I'm not double-dipping here - You won't lose anything by subscribing to one, but not the other.

Road to v.0.02

Alright, some time has passed since the v.0.01 public release - and It's time for me to share with you some information about the project's progress.

(General announcements like this will be publicly available, but the more detailed ones will be accessible from Tier II onward)

General

First and foremost, I'd like to thank everyone for the feedback regarding this version. No matter if it were words of encouragement, critique, or just a like or a reaction emoji - every single constructive feedback is very valuable to me, especially since we've just started.

Project progress

Ok, enough of me yapping - Testy, what you've been doing since the release?

Characters, dialogues, events

The initial release lacks content - I'm very aware of this. I'm aiming for the v.0.02 to address this issue - I'm currently in the process of writing numerous characters, their dialogue, events, and interactions. This is the main focus of the upcoming version. The project's design document is getting bulkier by the day, believe me :)

World

I have planned to introduce some new locations to accommodate the newly-created characters, but I want to avoid leaving empty areas - expect Outskirts to be available for sure.

Quality of Life

  • There will be some QoL changes introduced, like the sound slider or a character progress indicator/hint system.
  • For all of the stuff I have planned or in the concept stage, I'm less and less convinced that I'll be able to provide a fully-fledged mobile experience, at least for now. I aim for the landscape tablet screen (~960px - 1024px) as a minimum width right now.

When?

Conceptualizing and implementing all of this stuff will take me at least a month, maybe more. The v.0.02 will be released only when I'm absolutely sure that I'm satisfied with its quality.

Oh yeah, the v.0.02 will be instantly publicly available on release, since you couldn't do much in the v.0.01.

The scaffolding is set, now we dig.

TEotM v.0.01 is here!

So, after countless hours spent on first building out the basics, ironing out the details, and finally optimizing the build, it's finally here. The very first public release of TEotM.

I aimed for the v0.01 to have a scalable baseline, and some initial content to start things off with.

What can you expect in this release?

It ain't much at the moment, but it's honest work.

I see this game as a field, and me as a guy with a shovel and an intention of creating a wide, deep hole.

I've just installed all the basic scaffolding, and started removing the grass layer from the ground beneath me.
