Thursday Update March 26th 2026!
Apologies for the silence. I’ve been hard at work for the test build for Haven Realms: Lune. I changed her name because I noticed that there are quite a lot of games with the name Luna in it. So for the sake of being able to google the game easier I changed her name from Luna to Lune.
For those of you in the discord I made an announcement on the 10th talking about the Subscribestar changes. The short version is that there will no longer be a difference between the content I make between Patreon and Subscribestar due to their content policy changes. Use the platform that you prefer. You will get all of my content either way.
With that being said, I had to go back and change some of the planned lore for Lune. Those rewrites took me a bit but it’s done now. While doing that I got into writing the opening sequence and I spent more time on that than I probably should have. It’s work that needs to be done but not for the test build. The content that I once planned to have in the farm/stable will be replaced with milking cowgirls, horsemen and other related “humanoids”.
I spent the past 3 weeks making the test build and I got one that sorta worked but would be a massive pain in the ass to maintain over the coming years of development. So I decided to try my hand at making my own plugins to meet my specific needs and to have a cleaner interface for the player. This took me a while to get them where I wanted them to be but I think they are finally in a good enough spot for me to actually make something to show you guys. I’ll have some pictures attached to this post. They are nsfw so if you are on patreon they have to be paywalled per their policy.
I’ve built 3 plugins for this test build. One may not be used yet depending on how making the test build goes. The first one is a custom stat screen for Lune, Aster and Brair’s sex stats. I think Briar’s screen will change come the first release because I don't have plans to have permanent changes to her body throughout the game. I know I want her to have one but I don't know what stats make sense to show. I know I want the sex act counter on the left hand side of the screen but the right side I’m unsure.
The second plugin is a custom time of day cycle (Morning, Day and Night) that allows the player to swap characters via pressing 1,2 or 3 and changing the time of day in a loop by pressing Q. I will have buttons in the menu to do the same for those who don't want to use wasd. The idea is that you can play through the same day as all 3 characters to see what they are up to in town. Then you can go to bed and sleep to move the day forward. The events that will display are random, but I built in a pity system so that you dont get fucked by RNG and feel forced to farm the time cycle to find a certain scene. The major towns are going to end up being pretty dense with short scenes.
The third plugin is simply a little popup that happens above the player after you see a scene. As an example, say you are playing as Aster and you peek on Lune in the bath with Alex (a futa in town). After you see the little peeping scene, pink text will pop up above Aster's head that says “Lune: +1 Oral”. I have them color coded as Lune-Pink, Aster-Blue and Briar-Purple. This is the one that may not be implemented in the test build. I may save it for a future build.
I have a couple others that I want to make. I started on a glossary plugin that will have all the characters that you have met throughout the game with a picture and information about them. But that one is not complete yet and I think I’m going to put that on pause so I can start making art for the first build. I also want to make a relationship plugin so that I can have certain characters have their own side stories that will have scenes in the style of the Main Story/THR:Aki. This may be better handled via the quest plugin that I bought ages ago. Hard to say right now since that won’t be in the test builds.
I also got back into the sprite work and finished Lune’s clothed and naked sprites. I still need to tweak them more but this will be good enough for the test build. In the attached video you will see what it looks like as well as the placeholder sprites for Aster and Briar. I’ll be making a custom one for Briar for the following build. I have at least 10 characters that I want to make custom sprites for but those will be added over the course of the development. Mostly because I’m super slow at pixel art.
I’m going to keep the attached pictures all related to the Lune build and I will make a follow up post with the art that I’ve been making since the last update. I slowed down on the random pictures so it wasn’t a distraction to making Lune. I don't have an ETA yet on when this build will be ready but I’m aiming for about 4 weeks from now. As always I’m trash as guessing these things, especially when I’m making something new like this.
