The housing details:

• Seller has failed to show up for the emergency order to close on the house we're trying to buy, but also refuses to let me stay in the house while we wait for the paperwork to appear so we're in housing limbo still
• Drove by the house last week and there were a lot of issues that weren't present when we viewed the house initially (wasps, bugs all over the exterior of the house, no mailbox, leaking insulation) and I called my realtors to let them know I was pissed.
• Driving by the house yesterday, there have been some improvements made thus far (way less bugs, no wasps, scraped off leaking foundation, brand fuckin' new mailbox) which means that my comments got back to the seller and the seller, somehow, still cares about the property, which gives me a little bit of hope
• Currently staying in that same not-great motel room, which I had to pay for another week of because I just.... don't have anywhere to live right now.
• Trying to find alternatives is difficult because it's impossible to close on a house in 3 weeks here, but finding an apartment is also out of the question because I have a pit bull who is considered a "dangerous breed" (she's 7 years old and all she does is sleep and fart. it's bullshit.) so I'm basically just.... trying to hold out for this house.
• Right now I've spent about $1,000 more than I intended to when I set out from Oregon simply because
  • Hotel costs ($600-ish/week)
  • Animal food, human food (averaging about $45/day)
  • Toiletries, bug spray, cleaning agents ($60)
  • Gas (It's cheaper here so it's not that bad, only about $30 to fill up our tank)
  • Extending our mortgage rate because it keeps taking too long to close on the house ($618)
  • Probably going to cost extra to move our furniture and get a storage unit because it's unlikely that the seller will allow us to put our furniture in the house or in the garage until closing, if she's not willing to let us inhabit the house.
• And we're all just sitting around on our hands because the only people that can do anything about this is the DMV, who is currently processing the title for the house, and no one can get the DMV to do anything they don't want to do. The title is already 2 weeks late so I'm not sure what else to do.
