Hello everyone! I just wanted to make a quick dev log since yesterday.
I've been thinking about what to do because the money issue looks like something that is a lot larger than I thought. So far nobody checked back from Patreon. It's been only 24 hours, I know, but it looks like the process of people getting back is going to be a lot longer than I thought. It looks like it won't be just a week or two but it could be several months.
This is a problem because I literally spent all my money on the RTX 5070Ti, and even if get enough together for The Zeta Sector 1.6.4, then I would have to make 1.6.5, then I would have to get Nel's Misfortune to daz3d too. I'm sorry but I don't have the money to do that. I literally just don't. I have no excuses. If it's going to take multiple months until I get back to the $200-$250 the flow of updates will have to be interrupted.
I received an answer from Patreon support, saying that they would review my appeal in the next 5 to 30 business days. It's great that they've answered but I'm not much forward with this either. If they say 30 business days later that "no" or "please provide further evidence" that's going to take too long to carry on as is with the financial gap. I wanted to buy the newest batch of assets with the money that got taken by Patreon when the ban happened, and since the next $200-$250 is not on the horizon either, at this point I'm pretty much screwed.
Now the silver lining is that "bad end type of games" in html are not the only things that could be made with the daz engine. Comics or rather short Ren'Py titles could be made with it too, and honestly those are much more cost effective. I only need to choose a couple locations from my inventory, add a couple of new purchases, which could still happen, and I could crank out a 120-180 render comic easily.
I will publish Nel's Misfortune 0.9 during next week, either during the middle of the week or the weekend. There will be a couple shorts too along the way because honestly those are just cost effective. I mean just think about The Facility... That one was really cost effective ^.^
I'm still holding out, maybe in a few days Patreon forgives me, and I will be allowed to continue as is. This means that so far this is just a backup plan. But I'm honestly not all that hopeful. A lot of the stuff they said weren't accurate. They were picking out consensual parts of the shorts and the games, telling me it is grape, and they are sure. And those were literally the parts where the protagonist gave verbal consent. If that's the level of their engagement, if they just looked at a couple of images and deleted the whole channel on a whim based on that, I don't see a lot of hope for my channel being restored in a couple days. I'm sorry, I just don't.
Right now it looks like the backup plan will have to do for a while. Several months probably, or longer. Then we will see about the games later on when the channel's revenue returns to where it once was or somewhere close.
Welp, the dreaded moment has arrived, and Patreon got rid of my account. As you can see I completely stopped to exist as a consequence and therefore I'm unable to develop anything. Yes, I'm a ghost now! WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Anyways, what it did do is that there were several hundred dollars that I got cut away from. It will also take some time until people gather here, which means that there are several hundred more that I will lose. This might be a problem because I just spent everything on the new PC, but I think I will still be able to keep to the schedule.
There is also the issue that a lot if the images on SubscribeStar were linked from Patreon so now I will gave too seek them out from my hard drive and re-upload them. I'm also in the process of writing an appeal just in case they are willing to listen. So yeah, this will definitely cost time. So far Ithink I could publish Nel's Misfortune 0.9 on the weekend but we will see.
