nope, it's standalone - different cast to the previous ones, and vaguely set in the US, not semi-London. (you should read the previous ones though, because if you're here, you'll probably enjoy them!) They're all largely standalone, although with some call-backs and characters that reappear, but I don't think you need to read them in order to get the full effect.
It's a great start, I can tell this is going to be a good one. I love the teaser at the begining to show us where we are going. I can't wait for the next chapters.
I do like the opening "flash forwards" in the Digital Slave series, to let the readers know what they're in for! Slightly different "vibe" this time, a bit less... ruthlessly efficient, I suppose?
