【wip of a one-shot story in space inspired by playing Avorion and Trials In Tainted Space, as well as Robotech/Macross. Might turn this into a full story, but I already have a couple others that I'm spending a lot of time on.】

The thick scent of cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, and sweat fill the as the sound of loud music plays over cheers and arguments as people of all species roam a neon maze. Greatly adding to the wild and hedonistic ambience are girls in strapless leotards, fishnets and heels with glittery, glowing makeup everywhere one looks serving drinks, dancing on poles, and dealing cards at tables. Illuminated by a color changing replica of the stars on the ceiling above. For the right price, patrons can even challenge them to one-on-one duels on video games projected onto holographic tables. Strategically placed in the corners of the casino and at the center are bars and sitting areas where patrons relax by sipping on their favorite mixed drinks, snacking on finger foods, and laughing.

The surreal atmosphere and energy of the Starlight Euphoria makes it hard for one to remember they're on a space station. For many, it is a place where the lines between reality and fantasy blur, where anything could happen and never sleeps. That is, with one exception. Over at the bar in the furthest corner of the casino sits a seemingly you human girl in a military uniform doting on a busty Vulpine girl serving her another glowing, mixed drink. “Mhhhhh thaank you,” the girl hiccups, “I dunno what's in this shhhtuff but...” She pauses again as she closes one of her eyes and shudders briefly. “I love you! come 'ere an' let me pet those fluffy ears of yours.” She giggles and hiccups again. “They're shooo cuteー” The bartender cuts the amber haired girl in uniform off by placing her finger tip against the girl's lips before petting her. “Look at you, you've clearly had way too much dear,” the fog-eared bartender says as she places a clear, sparkling drink on the counter, “have some of this.” Ignoring, the fox-girl, the human chugs all of her glowing drink at once. The bartender sighs and moves on to servicing her other customers who clearly voice their discontent that the fog-girl gives the military too much affection. Even though, the military provides protection the casino, along with other near by stations and planets in the sector with protection, their presence makes illicit dealings harder whenever they pass by the fringe sectors of the galaxy.

Meanwhile, aboard a ship docked at a nearby hangar, an angry elf sits tapping the arm of her chair at the center of the bridge. “Where is the lieutenant” She scowls, as she oversees the restocking of ammunition, food, and other goods. A crew member responds, “Where else could she be, Lieutenant Commander? It isn't often the Little Viking stops somewhere like this.” Although she already knew the answer, she still gets angry. “Grrr... The lieutenant knows her duties come first. I swear, that girl. I will retrieve the Lieutenant.” She asserts as she takes her leave from the ship.

Back at the casino, the vulpine bartender walks the very drunk human girl carefully to her private quarters, pleading for the human to not vomit along the way. After making their way down a bright hallway, the two stop at a heavy, metal door. The fox-girl waves her hand over a scanner next to the door that flashes green before the door slides open. Upon entering the room, dim lights turn on. The room is roughly the size of a small bedroom with an attached restroom without a door and a window looking out into space. A small bed above two drawers, a comfy looking chair, and a table adorned by various drinks and an ashtray furnish the room. In the corner immediately to the left of the door is a food printer integrated into the wall and a couple cabinets one would presume to be for clothing. The fox-girl guides the intoxicated human to the bed to lay down.

After a quick shower, the fox-girl returns to the room now in lingerie and pets the passed out lieutenant before turning towards the window. She places a cigarette in between her lips, which automatically lights itself the moment it detects that she inhales. After starring off into the vastness of space for a moment, she turns towards the blank wall next to the bathroom and sighs, thinking to herself. “Eliriel is going to chew you out isn't she? Oh well.” With a press of a holographic button, a screen appears to be projected onto the blank wall showing a newscast about recent attacks in the sector followed by a segment highlighting an idol named Sophie who the sleeping lieutenant likes. With another press of the holographic console floating in front of the fox-girl, the screen changes to show a communication channel. At the top of the screen is the name, “Eliriél Arn'Ladrengil” and a waveform displays in the center.
