Life Updates: New Promotion, New Stresses, New Stories and Great Sage's New Direction?

Please scroll down to the TL;DR if you want the shorter version of what's going on.

I know I haven't been very good following time with the update schedule over the past few months. The main culprit of that would be my day job that I'm making a living off of. For starters, I just got a promotion to take the spot of someone who's now retired. That's all usually well and good, but try learning everything about the new job within a week because most of the time I could be learning was taken up with holidays and getting sick from covid? Yeah, that was not fun, and this new promotion didn't mean I was totally free from my previous job's duties, either. Not until they find a replacement, and I don't think they'll find one for me for a good long while. So I'm basically balancing jobs between more than 2 departments while I'm still trying to learn the ins and outs of my promotion, leading me to stay at work for longer work hours, and getting used to the new work schedule before getting back home later than usual.

As if that wasn't bad enough, I had to change desks, as well, and so with all the preparation for the move, I was getting behind on my job duties, and now that I'm fully moved, I'll need to put in a lot of effort getting caught up with what I've missed. It's been a hell of a time for the company I'm working for, too, since a bunch of people had to move between work spaces, as well, not just me. With all those priorities in mind, I almost didn't want to think about the ones involving my publicly-released stories.

That's where my practically forced writer's block came in and I just wanted to write something different for a change of pace. Granted, I do this from time to time when I'm not busy and want to keep my creative gears turning, but I've seriously been writing chapters for a number of different stories recently as a way to relieve all the real-life stress that's been going on, finding more means of escapism than normal. Those are the 'pilots' you now see on this page, and there's plenty more where that came from. Unlike OP Brawler and Xeno King, I'm thinking of updating these stories sporadically, out on a whim, with no set schedule whatsoever, once I clean up the pilots and re-post them. If you can, I'd like you guys to give them all a read, see if any of them are to your fancy, and I'll put up a poll later for which of those 'sporadic' stories you want me to clean and update weekly first until I've reached the end of its stock. I'll move on to the next voted story, or hold another poll for what's remaining, and repeat the process until they're all caught up. By that point, I'll just update whatever I have at my own convenience. I thought this much will be good to give my page more variety of what's available to read for exclusive members, and I of course can't forget about my rebooted Great Sage story.

I thought I'd take advantage of this break to show the progress of Great Sage and gauge your reactions. This is especially so since my main editor who's now my co-writer for Great Sage, 700 Tnega Terces, is currently in a foreign country with minimal access to internet, making our meetings and discussions for my stories limited, so progress on Great Sage for now is on hold. We both agreed that this would be a good opportunity to give the readers a preview of what the reboot has to offer, and for those of you who've already read it, you know how totally different this is from the previous version.

If you were to ask me what I think of Great Sage now compared to when I first started writing it, I'd say it's become a source of writing guilty pleasures. An overly-sexualized female cast with outrageous body proportions, ridiculous magic that could be pulled out from a porno/hentai, out of all the stories I've written and posted so far, this would best demonstrate my current skills as an adult content creator/writer that lean more on the kinkier side of the industry (with some help from my editor, of course). Not only that, but this will be a much slower burn of a story, one that's closer to Slice of Life, than it had been from the previous version, meaning the MC's, Soar Osmis', age progression will be slower, as well. This also means that his bonding and interacting with other characters will be much more enforced this time around, including his Fairies once they make their appearance and become more of a focus than previously. Even with this being more of a Slice of Life story, however, it's still set in a world of swords and magic, of which it has its own set of rules with law and nature, with many possibilities for world-building as Soar ages and grows to become the OP Great Sage you knew previously, perhaps even more OP than before, if it's possible. There's a link to a survey in the reboot's story page on this site if you want to take it after checking out the sample. There aren't a lot of questions to answer, so it shouldn't take more than five minutes to finish. I'd appreciate it if you can take the time to do it once you've read the sample.

I understand this change may not be to some your liking, and while Terces and I are open to critiques for improvement, I don't think we're going to veer the direction of this story away from when we started the reboot, especially not back to the previous version. If this has made you drop the story altogether, well, I'm sorry this wasn't able to entertain you. I hope my other stories will provide what you're looking for instead, but if not and you decide to move on, then I thank you for giving my writing a chance.

TL;DR: Work has been sucky lately, especially with my new promotion. Stress has been building, main stories were put off for sporadic ones that I'll post occasionally from now on, giving you guys much more to choose from. Great Sage reboot sample is up (you can get to the page by clicking here, or copy-paste the link: https://subscribestar.adult/posts/806527), now being more of a Slice of Life, erotic story than previously, which will not change anytime soon, but my co-writer and I are open for critiques. They can be written with the survey included in the story's main page.

I thank you guys very much for your patience and understanding as I'm trying to acclimate myself to this new work schedule and position. I'll try to focus on my health more while I try to get back into the swing of things, and while it may not be regularly scheduled, I'll try to get my updates out every week, at best. I hope you guys can stick around a little longer as you'll likely see many more stories coming your way in the future, so stay tuned.
